Anyone know if you can order a new Tacoma SR5 4x4 Double cab short box with the TRD hood scoop?
The reason I'm asking is because I like the look of the hood scoop on the TRD DC, but don't like the long box. Wife needs an automatic with a short box or else she will have to park 9 miles from every mall :p

No, the hood scoop only comes from the manufacturer on the TRD Sport models but if you pay the dealer enough money I'm sure you could have one on your new truck. Either that or order a Tacoma with the TRD Sport package or buy a scooped hood and have it painted and installed.

Thanks for the info. I'm in canada, and I thought the TRD Sport DC shortbox was only available in a manual up here?
    I will look into it.

Except the fact that everyone wants the sport hoods.

Sport hood? no not everyone.... I did not like the feeling of having to look over the faux scoop...could have bought any truck on the lot and chose the SR5. Just an observation.

I'm talking about the trade. Not too many sport hood owners are out there looking for a standard hood, hence it would be unlikely to find someone to trade away their sport hood for the OP's regular hood. It happens but not very often.

    Just the basics
    ^^^^Yeah that^^^^
Your side bar says you already have a 2010. If the scoop is that important why not get the Sport? You will regret not getting it.

The sidebar is showing the TRD sport I was going to order this week. Don't own one yet. Starting to second guess due to length of the box. Like I said above, I don't believe the TRD Sport DC short box is available in Canada as an automatic.

Per Toyota Canada website you are correct. Canada is strange.

Also can't get the TRD Sport DC longbox in manual. Strange indeed.

And that's a problem? Sounds like a good idea to me! Now if that was a problem parking near the grocery store or the liquor store... that would be a problem!
