if wanting to add a camera to a factory screen ( not all ) I have use this...

CAM-TY12. made by pac. serves as a retention for am ids and adding to fact id. there are other manufactures that make them but this I have used and had luck. ( pac makes good stuff )

 

What recall would that be? I recently got a 06 Toyota Tacoma prerunner and haven't heard anything on that. Mines out on my truck according to the autozone code reader.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to give it a read. I'm still trying to figure out how to move the oem mirror camera into a newer oem radio so it displays on the screen. Maybe I'll be able to find some info in that thread.

Finally got them installed and went smoothly, however if I did it over again I would have gotten some grade 8 bolts instead of the button screws. Stripped them tightening them down, now if I have to remove them or re tighten them I'll have to drill them out. Might end up replacing them anyways for something stronger if I decide to tackle that nightmare. The supports have excellent craftsmanship and are high quality! Thanks @Bentrodder

 

You need the beard mod.

 

I stripped and eventually butchered the button screws.. I tried everything but a torch and since I didn't have one and was impatient, I ended up sawing it off. It didn't go so well.

Edit: I did this on the bed railing. I hate those screw.

 

Mind posting up a pic of your truck from the side? I also have a base model and am considering putting some sport rims on it. Trying to get an idea of what it would look like with the black fender flares!
