I went with the OME complete kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road. I went with the firm ride shocks and 886's to support extra weight. I also added the LR upper control arms for better ability adjust the alignment. I almost went with the AAL option to save a bit of money but decided that with an RTT and bed rack going over the bed I would just do a full leaf pack. The ride is definitely stiffer but to me its not bad. Once it gets broken in and settles along with adding more weight I expect it to soften up a little bit(I installed it last week). Get in touch with Marie at Headstrong and she will provide all the info you could ever want to know before purchase. She was fantastic to work with when I was getting ready to order.

Where are you located? DFW area?

    HAD TRD OR.
    HAVE PRO
All tacos are THE SAME HEIGHT!. Search my posts and see pictures and measurements.
PRO has FOX (non adjustable) and are mush. It dives and rolls A LOT MORE compared to my former OR. I have (still new in box ICON stage 1) and Camburg milled UCA, waiting for ICON leaf springs full package to be released and will replace the FOX setup.
If anybody close Gilbert AZ wants to meet and do a side by side stance comparison to put to rest the "taller" argument let me know. My PRO is still stock except the intake that I put in a TRD CAI setup.

Please put it to rest. My only concern with the pro setup was ride quality more than height. What I got from your post is that it's too soft as to why icons are waiting in your garage? One inch over stock isn't worth the msrp or 2k

Damn Marie must be amazing, main name I've heard concerning suspension. I'm located in central Florida. But have similar plans in the future. Do you have measurements after instal?

I didnt take any measurements but Low Range Offroad posted up some specs of the kit with the 887's on a third gen along with install videos a week or so ago. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...mu-lift-on-tacoma-video.483146/#post-14779963 They are running 285's and I believe they said somewhere in the thread that they measured from the ground so some height is from the tire size increase.

So let's talk warranty issues. A stock Trd pro vs a off-road with an aftermarket lift. Either one developed a problem with suspension, diff or transfer case, who will be covered? I like both approaches but personally would not sacrifice Toyota warranty.

How did he shatter my dreamworld? I posted what Toyota states in regards to their literature. The original question was a clarification about 1" over all vs. 1" up front. One person's TRD Pro not having 1" of lift and another having it (for whatever reason) is not that far fetched. It's like saying every single 3rd gen Tacoma has EXACTLY 278HP. It's not realistic.

But, again, I don't really care if I have the extra 1" on my particular TRD Pro or not. The tires I want will fit and I will wheel it with out ever thinking twice about it. I clarified a statement from someone who had asked a question. That is all.

The question I really want to know... why do you continue to troll and derail conversations @smitty99? Weren't you going to sell your shitty Taco and buy an 'merciun Ford or something? I feel you're well overdue to make that happen and leave us all in peace.

Nothing was derailed at all. We are right on topic. Discussion is re: whether the TRD PRO suspension adds 1" of lift or not. Reading comprehension FTW!

To the OP... my apologies for adding to yet another off topic bullshit argument. I fell into the trap again. Ugh.

I'll say this much. My dad has a 2016 TRD Sport and I have a 2017 TRD Pro. For on road feel, I prefer my Pro as I do feel like it's not as bumpy. I don't take turns too hard or fast as the truck is still very new and I usually have my kiddo in the truck with me. Also haven't had a chance to go wheeling with it. However, on highway on/off ramps at 50-60 mph, I never feel like the truck sways excessively. I'm happy with the feel but I'm also coming from a 2000 Tacoma that had a 3" toytec suspension kit on it. That truck was very stiff (maybe too stiff) but I was able to hod rod with the sway bar removed and never had it dip or roll too much.

Wow. Not what I would have expected... good to hear from someone who has owned and driven both though - not many can say that. I would have put money on the Fox being stiffer but more controlled under heavy use. The TRD OR shocks are so damn soft I couldn't imagine the Fox's being even softer.

Been surfing the world long enough to know it happens to anyone. Apology accepted. And that sounds like a very stif ride. I'm coming from a 2013 vw Jetta lowered 1-2". But still feel that the stock OR is soft but also considering parts of the trucks life has little passengers. Still I can't justify the price for a softer and minimal gain

Yeah, as I said earlier, I would recommend looking aftermarket. If these shocks were installed when you bought the truck (TRD Pro), they're not too shabby and I'm happy with them. But buying them and putting them after the fact, you simply have many more options that will be a better bang for your buck.

I'm actually planning on a simple ome setup. Just building a weekend warrior for now. Work takes to much time to do it any other day. I just haven't heard much about the suspension on the pro. Just cosmetics and bs mostly

Well, under stiff but not heavy braking to a full stop, the truck dives front, then back, front again and one more time back...
In turns at moderate speeds it does the same side to side. My wife would not stop criticizing my driving "skills" and is the truck not me. Feels the same like the 2005 Dodge 1500. I like to be alone in the truck...

    bottom line:

even if the pro kit was the same price as an OME kit (which it's not) the OME kit is better.

    just go aftermarket.

even if you put Pro suspension on a TRD OR or TRD Sport, the dealership can still void your warranty on those parts by citing that that suspension doesnt belong on this truck...

LOL I would take that argument to court sinceI have just the sr5 model, but all of the connections and computers plus the dummy lights on the dash for rear locker, 4lo, 4X4 it's all on there. If I added toyota parts and had toyota do it then warranty should be not voided. If you go aftermarket anything then that could very well void warranty.
