2000 SR5 manual 2.7 with 260K for $8500. I drove the truck today and truck is 100% stock and in exceptional condition. Last owner owned it 12 years and purchased it at 78K. Clean carfax and zero frame rust Alabama truck its whole life. Little bit of fading on hood and roof. 3:91 open rear. Small oil leak from front of motor. Squeeky clutch pedal. Very straight and tight truck. I offered them $6500 cash and they declined. NADA retail is ~$7500 but I'm not sure I can offer. Thoughts?

My 04 cost me just over 20k with taxes and fees last year, 24k miles on the odo when I picked her up.

    47k now :(

Who ever buys it better plan on doing a full timing belt service if it already hasn't been done. I see about 2k worth of work in that truck if it hasn't. Those cheap tires would be in the trash pretty quick.

That's one of my concerns about a super low mileage truck. Something 15 years old ought to have at least 125k miles on it, yeah? Any threads on here that discuss this type of stuff in detail?

honestly, it was a concern of mine and a big reason behind why I opted for a 60k mile aftermarket warranty on it just in case. I've ended up having to use it a few times but one could argue the issues were self-inflicted from all the 4x4'ing I do. In the one year that I've owned it, the only major work I've had done is having the lower ball joints replaced (they were leaking) and had a stock fan clutch re-installed after the aftermarket e-fans that the previous owner put on stopped working (they were junk).

Oh, and about a month after I got it I got a CEL for a P0171 code (system too lean) that ended up being from a vacuum leak on the supercharger (7th injector/EGR port came uncapped) so that was more of a freak incident than anything. But overall, she's run like a top. My only complaint is that the manual trans shifts really notchy and I seem to have never-ending clutch issues, but I hear that's more of a Tacoma thing in general.

i haven't seen much on this site but i have researched elsewhere. the mechanic i go to said 8000-9000 a year is a good rule of thumb. he says things start to work in reverse and possible dry rot/etc.. issues. i agree with him. i also think that maintenance should be based on mileage AND time.

as posted above that's actually not bad. but they got the axle ratio wrong, ask them for 2k off :D

it's now listed at 9k, changed 11 hrs ago. I'd pass on that, even if it's clean.

everything dry rots with age, usage, and sun. My commute is 11 miles round trip, for ~240 days a year (weekends and vacation), that equates to ~2700 miles a year. Thankfully I go to other places. But I also ride my motorcycle as much as I can in the summer.

For a private sale, that's not TOO far off if you ask me...4x4 TRD so it's already got what most people want. What kills it though is the auto trans :bananadead::crapstorm::D
