I contacted yotamac, yotamasters, and a local shop that I like to see prices and if any of them can get it done by my trip. Fingers crossed

What's up with all the talk about Icons being difficult to rebuild? What does everyone think is so special about them? :notsure:

Not sure, had mine done by them in about 48 hours. Have read about their nitro filler fitting being proprietary but otherwise internally "seen 1 seen em all" as far as I know.

Yup! I had never seen the inside of a shock before, and got them done in about 2 hours. All standard garage tools used aside from the custom tool i made to set the remote resi piston at the correct depth. Which I made out of two 5'' standoffs and a couple nuts. Ordered the rebuild kit from DSM and even revalved them. After i was familiar with it, the 2nd one took about 25 minutes total. Honestly, if you're just rebuilding them it is super easy! The nitro filler on mine is the same used on Kings, so I didn't run into that issue either :notsure:

It could possibly be that some Icons such as the non resi shocks use a needle type nitrogen fill. Most people don't have the tool.

A buddy in town had a setup for his Kings

Could be, I just wasn't sure what the special tools required are since I never had to deal with it. Which is why I asked. Pure curiosity. Could be a dumb question, but wouldn't that just be a different fitting on the nitro refill hose? Or is that needle type fitting that special that it isn't something someone could find on McMaster or something similar? :notsure:

I mean its just that its not everybody has them compared to a regular scrader valve. I have two, Yes it is a needle with a fitting for a regular nitro hose, you can get them online.

I got my needles and gauges off eBay. Pretty easy to fill. Kinda like using a needle to fill a basketball or football.

N-FT-NE-SHR-3.jpg s-l1000.jpg cost about $20ish for the needle schrader valve setup. The whole setup with gauges and hose and needle are about $140ish. You will still need a tank of nitrogen.
