Hi guys I'm new to this so bare with me please, I just got a 2010 Tacoma a few weeks ago, I've done my
Reserch and decided best lift would be a 3 inch toytec, I off road quite a bit and was hoping to make this thing as Capible as possible, but the tire I was hoping to go with (285/75r16) everyone is saying will rub, I would like to kno if the rub can be minimized by rims and Ik I'll have to trim but will this just be a off-road rubbing nightmare with this setup? Or can I make it work?

It won't be to bad, with anything above 265s u will have trim if you off-road. I have a 2010 With OME 885s and dakars. I have 285/75/17 and those are a little bit bigger than the ones ur looking at. I had to do the CMC and a little trimming of the plastic liner. I also have to do hammer back the punch weld soon to stop all rubbing when off road. You can make those tires work with some trimming.

That's good news, how hard is it to trim down the body mount? And I was hoping to do 3 inch in front and 1.5 in back, I'm hoping its performs well off road

What would be the next size down I could go without having it look goofy? I'd look to make it look equal and not like it skipped leg day

I personally would not go down any tire size, I think Toyota should of had a bigger tire from the factory. If you do not know how to weld find a local member, who can do the CMC for you. That's what I did. I had a 1.5" AAL to begin with and the ride with it is sloppy. If you tow or load up the bed at all, be prepared to get the cali lean every time because the AAL does not add any additional weight capacity.

    Here's my truck with a 2.5" lift running 265/70r17s (+1" over stock)
    20160427_162802.jpg

Here's that same lift with 285/75r16
    20160901_181304.jpg

Here's what is necessary to do a CMC (cab mount chop) which is almost guaranteed to run 285s

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/b-a-m-f-cmc-plates-cab-mount-chop.192527/

And here's how you'd hammer the pinch weld.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...lat-with-a-sledge-hammer-lets-discuss.425850/

And of course you'll have to trim plastic, so it helps to have a dremel for that.

As far as wheels go, the farther it pushes the tires out, the more you're going to rub on the firewall. Ideally you want something that's 8" wide with 4.5" of backspacing. This helps to keep the wider tires from rubbing on your UCA.

Thankx for all the info man, I was going to do a block in the rear cuz it's a pain to pull the leaf pack apart. I was going to to go with a -12 offset but if that's going to run the I'll take a different route. I'll
Look it into that CMC for sure. I also hear good and bad about the diff drops and that they are not
Needed, so I'm up in the air about wether I need to install it or just leave it out

Try to avoid a block in the rear. It causes axle wrap (google it if you're unsure what that is). An AAL is a bit of a pain to install, but it's definitely worth it.

For the diff drop, it doesn't really matter either way.

Look into some SCS Wheels. They're made for our trucks and they look awesome.

I am running 265/70/16 on mine and have no rubbing issues. 5100s up front with 884s set at zero on the shock. No rubbing at all. Rear just has AALs.

I hope you wouldn't rub! That's the stock size.
:D You're welcome! Which ones? If the SCS, he has a blemished wheels thread. Saved me $200 on my set.
