It's the NHL sending a message. They want to punish him and not the Bruins if they can make the playoffs without him.

 

Well put. I just expected them to give him 5-10. Even though I think the game misconduct was overboard for that play.

 

I think it was a nice way to say to him and the Bruins that if it happens in the playoffs he'll be done for the year.

iI honestly can't believe he did something that dumb in a game of that magnitude. If he does it in the playoffs, i'd expect nothing less. At least everyone can stop with the "How Marchand changed his game..." articles now. He may score 45+ goals, but still up to the old antics.

 

Its a joke, I am no fan of Marchand but the NHL is so inconsistent with the punishment they hand out its laughable.

Keep in mind, he did slew-foot Stralman the game after his hearing for that same incident with Kronwall lol. I hate the guy. And I'm not trying to troll you for being a Bruins fan or anything. I respect that you like them and you are a really level-headed dude on everything, anyways. But it's just his game. Like I mentioned a few weeks back, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about his offensive game. Still not a fan of how he plays, in general (meaning the other stuff). And I know I take flak for being a Sid and Kane fan, so be it lol.

And ya, I feel like every NHL discipline is a total coin-flip or roulette wheel for the punishment haha.

I agree. I'm also a Kane fan, and honestly Sid is still a hair better then McJesus, lol. But regardless of what Marchand has done before, Crosby should have been suspended for his spear too.

From the explanation for the department of player safety, one of the main reasons there was additional discipline for Marchand was because of his history. Which may partially explain why Crosby didn't get a suspension since he doesn't have the history that Marchand has. How Crosby didn't at least get a penalty in the game, however, is beyond me.

 

The ironic thing about the Crosby non call / no suspension is that if he had missed Methot's hands and chopped his stick in half it would have been called for sure

 

I mean I'm no hawks fan (for obvious reasons) but Kane probably has the best hands in the league. Period. Hard not to admire

Didn't know which Kane you were talking about but yea there was a game. I don't remember who it was against. But those two we're doing be hind the back passes, through the legs passes.

 

Minute left in the game, avs have a goal waved off that would've tied the game 4-4. Refs take a look, overturn the call on the ice and call it a good goal. Then the Wild challenge for goalie interference and it gets reversed back to no goal. Jesus Christ lol

 

NBC must be Hawk fans jesus christ.
