You have to go through all the gears in sequence and even then the truck will decide to upshift when it is ready.

No i did an extended test drive, had it 3 days and found the Auto almost unbearable and then Ordered a Manual, it was a much better choice.

After a few years of that, you'll need the hearing aid mod. :D

Thanks but it's ok. Like I recently told my wife: "I bought it. Was my decision and my mistake to make. I'm going to drive the crap out of it till the warranty is up. At that point, it's leaving."

If the budget would have allowed, I would have bought a tundra instead of the Tacoma. So, that's likely what I'll do BUT the F150 ecoboosts sure are interesting............

My dad has one. It's a pretty sweet ride... BUT I don't think the resale is there.

Let me tell you something just because you can leave your manual in gear its in and make the hill doesn't mean it didn't want to be downshifted when it lugged over the hill. Personally I don't care what anyone drives manual or auto. I have owned both and now drive and auto. Don't have a problem with either but all this manual is the only way to go is a big crock of crap. All autos downshift going up a decent hill its the nature of an auto. If lugging over a steep hill in manual is what you like then by all means get you a manual.

If you've seen Seatbelt Mike's promo vids, he seems to praise the MT more than the AT. He doesn't mention the AT unless he's talking about Crawl Control or MTS.

I think you are absolutely correct and that's what makes the tundra much more attractive even though it's more expensive.

today was a hard MT day. about 6 hours in crawling traffic jams and frequent stops. it was a stress beatdown. still glad i got the MT.

this truck is as fun to drive even on road as my R32 was after years of modding and tweaking. actually i probably have more fun in the yota since it's made me a better driver.

I love a MT ... the only problem is ... a MT kicks my ass when stuck in bumper to bumper heavy traffic for a couple of hours.

I actually have to give Seatbelt Mike credit on that one, it does shift pretty damn smooth for the most part except Reverse is still a bitch to get into.
