But even that is wider than stock, right?

Yes, the 0 offset 4.5 backspace, pushes the wheel out 1.25 inches over stock.

That's a nice look. Are there photos of your truck on here? Never mind, I found them.

UPDATE -- I worked with Discount Tire (better customer service than USAA) and am getting some level 8 trackers instead. Just 2mm larger of a bore, 108, should help on the fitment. From what their wheel scientists say...

    Mk6's are 106.10 hub
Tacoma (at least 2017) is 106.10 hub

Both manufacturers are accurate within .10 mm... that said if my tacoma got screwy and is 106.20 and the wheels ended up being 106.00 then I would fall in that "one in a million" which I feel happened to me.

Of course some modification could work and I know machine shops and own the right tools to do myself but still don't want to pay money for a product that doesn't fit off the bat.

Other than sitting slightly outside of the fenders, will that offset affect anything?

Ok, help me make sure I have this straight: if your wheel (with 0 offset) pushes the tire flush with the fender, the same wheel with a -10mm offset would push the tire 10mm outside of the fender?

Imagine your wheel at stock setup, 35mm. If you wanted -10 offset you are looking at a 45mm difference. (Down to zero - plus 10 for a negative) it's a little more than 1.7 inches further out than your stock wheel.

Edit--Hold a level to your fender and hold a measuring tape up to your tire. That'll show you how far past your fender it will be. If you want, I'll do this when my wheels are mounted they are -6 offset.

Thanks man, I feel like such a dunce trying to figure this out. That 1.7 inches you mention doesn't account backspace, right? And that would push the tire even further outside of the fender, correct?
If the backspace adds another 1.25 inches, now I'm looking at 3 inches further out than stock. That seems like a lot.

Now backspace isn't really something I have looked into. I may be wrong but from what I understand backspace is literally...the space in the back of the wheel - the depth of the interior of the wheel where your calipers would sit with all the other crap. If you're going -6 to -10 I am positive it will not hinder your ability to mount them on a factory front end setup so backspace doesn't matter until you go crazy -75 or + at greater than 35.

If it mentions backspace increase or decrease you aren't adding that number to the offset as well, the offset is the actual change of your distance from stock.

If running a (-) offset, the radius that the wheel travels as you turn the steering wheel will be greater. If you are running larger tires, the likelyhood of having them run on the fender is increased as a result.

That said, the negative offset will push the wheel out away from the UCA so the likelihood of a tire rubbing there will be decreased.

    I'm only running 265/70/17.
I'm trying to figure out if a 0 offset or a -10 will be best. I figure either will be an improvement over the factory wheels.

You're overthinking it. :) It does account for backspace. Go to that link I posted, it explains it.

Personally, the -10 looks odd to me on a near stock tire size. But go with what you like best. There are several pics on the Mk6 thread in both the 0 an -10 to give you an idea.

I didn't even know there was a Mk6 thread! Thanks!

If these load it will show you a little before and after. These are -6 level 8 trackers. First two are prior to install.
