Depends on what your looking at I know the mt shastas are put but they are coming back in stock last week of April. According to a email I got from CVT. But you can still order it on group buy that just reserves you one.

The cost is because the stargazer is in every tent now.

Also:
1. extra travel cover zipper
2. Plus a extra rainfly with no star through it.
3. extra cover straps
4. extra side straps
5. extra parts
6. all the tents that are extended come with a all weather bar. Which is a pole that extends from the inside of the tent to the ubar in the overhang to help shed water and snow.
7. Plus China raised their prices

 

Actually this has changed nothing as it is the same price as what everyone has seen. The stargazer is what most all have ordered so it is now current on price. The only thing is anyone who wants a non star there wont be any.
We do have a few non star in the Rainier and also the shasta standard. This will be at the $200 less.
If I am off anywhere please let me know. Nothing has gone up that I am aware of except it is the price it should be with the star.

Just from my experience looking for a tent and pricing on your site...

2+ weeks ago there was a stargazer option that was actually $400 less than the current price. Then the non-stargazer option disappeared, and the price with the stargazer option was the only price.
I called and spoke with a woman at CVT and she explained that now the listed price includes the stargazer option. Makes sense... Then a few days ago the price went up another $200 more than the stargazer(normal tent) across the board. Made us say, what's going on?
Yesterday someone at CVT said they understood all the confusion and will guarantee the old price and the 25% discount. Not trying to nickel and dime, just may fall out of budget...

 

Which tent exactly? I will look into it.

 

@skaterportland I'm worried about the same issue. When I was reviewing which tent I wanted to go with (picked the mt Shasta standard stargazer summit in gray) the price on the website was $2295 so i told @ramonortiz55 to add me. I'm #20 on the list but with this $200 increase I might be out as well.
