Would a 285x75R16 fit on a stock 2004 Tacoma 4wd? Has anyone run this size tire?

    Doublecab, no.

Xcab, rubbing on articulation and turns

This will not fit without a lift and probably either wheel spacers or wheels with more backspacing. A 32" tire is about as big as you can go stock. And 285's are wider than stock and they will rub.

5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
Heightwise they may well fit, I'm runing that size and had to put a 3/4 inch wheel spacer in to make sure that they didn't rub the frame at full lock. I also have not quite a 3 inch lift which moves the widest part of the tire(looking from the side) below the bodyline, without a lift you would likely have to do some serious massaging to the fenders, pinchweld and inner wheelwells.

While I was IFS, I had multiple mods when I ran 285's without issues. To run this tire size, there are multiple things to consider.
    1. Wheel width & backspacing.
    2. CO's - adjustable or not.
    3. UCA's - OEM or aftermarket.

At the time, I had TC UCA's, ICON 2.5 extended travel CO's, 1" wheel spacer on each side while running the OEM spare 16 hole (spare) steelies.
No rubbing and I did not do the pinch weld mod. The CO height was a bit over 2" IIRC.

    Hope this helps you.

I'm running 285/75 R16's currently. I've lifted about 2.5", added TC UCA's, Spidertrax spacers, and adjusted the pinch weld. I still get some rubbing when turning and compressing. My latest attempt to fix this will be to add Bushwacker cut out fender flares, that's today's project. The flares should theoretically provide more room for travel, and cover the tires better to avoid flinging mud/snow/melty-mag chloride-muc. I'll post some pics when I get them on.

    Wadar,
What wheels are you running and what backspace?

I'm running Method, Grid's 16 x 8 with 4.5" backspacing. Here's the new fender flares, now I just need to go test them!

It worked, I got rid of the rub! I checked my work with a quick test run through the desert just north of town. IMG_0113.jpg
