I usually keep an eye out on my mpg before I open my door or my truck just to see what it's getting. I'm wondering if it's finally learning to shift better. Yesterday was the best I've seen it for the trip from home to work which is about 30 miles each way. It showed 26.9 mpg! Nothing has changed same gas same driver. It has just turned 2,000 miles. Usually I see around 22-24mpg at the best. Any other people who have seen a increase after it has any miles closer to mine? It's a v6 2wd double cab.

Nice. Sometimes I can get the instant trip up above 30 MPG on my wife's sienna AWD. But when I calculate real mpgs after 300 or so miles I return to the real world.

Has it gotten warmer where you live? The cold really kills mileage.

I only had my truck a week and just noticed that trip meter the other day and its amazing how variable it is. I drove down to the local town about 20 minutes and it netted 24.6MPG and my trip back up home was 18.6MPG, still not bad as it averages out to 21.6.

I am getting just under 17mpg all the time. I cannot understand how people are getting so much more than that lol. I guess if someone has a single cab 2wd, 4 cylinder and 6 speed, but otherwise.......

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd do better if I stayed off the interstate but I don't have all friggin day.

I get more than 17mpg today in the south east pulling a 5x14 trailer utility trailer on i65 and off interstate on rough and hilly roads.

I have oversize all terrains as well, 265/75r16.

    Also dcsb trd sport 4x4

Lol I don't get it. I have pretty much the same exact truck, stock tires though. Up until the last month or so I always drove with ECT on and mostly in sport mode. Recently I've been driving the truck just in regular d and driving normally. It did go from about 15 up to 17 where it's at now. I just can't seem to do any better than that LOL.

Sometimes I think our fuel mixtures are jacked up here. Maybe it's elevation... I don't know, but if I drive east to Virginia my MPG will steadily improve as I cross the US.

Well since the wind was so bad here cruise at 70 would go on 6th, shifted into 5th on small grades, and shifted to 4th on big enough gusts and hills. 4th makes the truck around 3k 5th 2100 and 6th 1850. All just guesses.

Edit, bc my tires you'd need to add roughly 3.5% to all my speeds, but rpm remains same of course.

Hahaha look at your fuel gauge! Your tank is full! That means you left the gas station and practically pushed your truck a mile or so home!

My "Tank Average" is always really high after a fill-up!

    BUSTED!
