Morning everyone

 

I'm paitently(yeah right) waiting to see if Fed Ex really is bringing my wheels today. It says delivery is scheduled between 11-3:45.

Damn, at least they give you a time. Usually mine say deliver by the end of the day

 

Fedex has been the toughest courier to deal with in my experience. It always listed as "delivery by end of day" too, then at like 7pm it shows an exception and theres nothing you can do about it. #ihatefedex

 

Basic steel wheels.

I signed up for some notification type thing and so it showed me a time where it previously said "End of Day"

Our Fed Ex driver likes to drop crap by the mail box and then mark it down as "front porch. So I am stalking the tracking info and I have my Aunt watching for them. So far nothing has been stolen but I still don't want to take a chance. I've complained to Fed Ex several times but they onviously don't give a damn.

but what are you wrapping em with? IMO steelies only look good with a ton of meat around them to disguise the steelie, but its your money and your truck so dont mind my commentary

 

I picked up a set of Nitto Trail Grappler MT in 285/75/17 that i'm going to put on there. Also the wheels are 17's so pretty much any decent offroad tire looks meaty on it.

 

theres a guy selling 5 of those right now on the houston toyota cruisers fb page. Debated snapping em up but ive got life left in my current tires and im eyeing pizza cutters (255/80/17)... anything that pushed you over to 285/75/17 (are you sure they arent 285/70/17? I think 285/75/17 is like a 34" tire which is hard to stuff under a 4runner.)

 

I bought them from someone off the HTX T4R FB page so it may be the same guy.

I'm currently runing 265/70/17 and they're tucked in and there's a lot of room left to play with. I just double checked the tire size(they're in the back of the Runner)and it is 285/75/17. If these work out then they will only be used for offroad weekends and my current wheel/tire setup will be for daily driving since they have good tread life left.

 

post up some pics when you get it all installed and all! cant wait to see some 34s under a 4runner.

 

If it works out I definitely will! Right now I'm at the mercy of FedEx and I also have to see if our local discount tire will mount them for me. My boyfriend bought tires for his 3rd gen Runner from Walmart and they refused to mount them because of his skid plates. Apparently they didn't feel comfortable putting it on a lift.
