18 years old + 1200cc bike... sounds like a bad combination tbh. ><

 

I'd start with 600

 

I wouldn't disagree with you if it were one of your typical japanese four cyilnder sport bikes but this is a v-twin were talking about here, the thing tops out at like 120. And its not torquey enough for the weight of the bike to lift the front wheel. It's fairly light for a harley as well, so it handles nicely. I've ridden sport bikes for short stints here and there before and 600cc sport bikes are scary fast but theyre a whole different kind of bike.

 

I'm crushing on the Honda Africa Twin allot lately.

 

I just know the trouble I would have gotten myself into on a bike at 18. It's not even the particulars of the bike, it's that the consequences for one screw up on a bike are astronomical compared to the same in a car.

ahhh. yeah, I fit the typical 18 y/o bill of being a little reckless everyonce and while, idk. May start off with a junkie CL bike then drop the 8-10 grand on a harley later.

You can omit that option. I cringed when I first saw that and thought that all of them came that way.

 

that was my assumption as well, if they can be had in the typical sequential motorcycle tranny then it would make a sweet adventure bike, I also really enjoy the looks of them. The red and white color scheme is mint af.

 

Yeah- having been 18 once and having my motorcycle license, as well as having close friends and relatives who work ER... well let's just say there's a reason I don't ride anymore. The potential cost is too steep for the fun. Just go get a little miata for $3k and tool around in that

 

for a little bit more i could get a junkyard ls swap miata and be faster than the motorcycle

 

I'd vote that 1,000 times over a motorcycle. I sold my two wheeled vehicle and bought an s2000- similarly fun and infinitely safer!

Very smart thing to do. Especially since until you get several 1000s of miles under your belt you will put your bike down and/or drop it.

 

s2k's are dope as hell! bring that to c&c! I was screwing around on youtube and they put like a 700hp fine tuned corvette ls into a super modified s2k body with a 6 speed manual trans from some other car. The thing was sketchy fast.
