Ok it's getting pretty bad now that Toyota can't even tell what's a TRD Pro or not... Also if Chad is here, nice TRD Pro, bro.

Sorry for the BS thread, but this seemed important.

is this the same guy who actually did recreate a "TRD Pro" in quicksand? He posted his truck (very nice) here on TW about 2-3 months ago.

Surely they could use photos of something more rugged than a golf cart path.

Well, technically it IS a path. A very nice path, I might add.

The point here is that Chad has taken his TRD PRO OFF of the "beaten path". I assume a path that has been "beaten", would look a lot worse for wear than this beautiful path.... Soooo, Chad has tried the "beaten" path and found his truck unsuitable for the "roughness" of it and has therefore chosen to get off of that beaten path...!!

Makes sense to me....I think.. LOL

I think he is heading for the mall as we speak..:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

BAAAHAHAHAHA Love when I see shit like this, I'm guessing either A) they have an outside company handle their social media, which is not uncommon and you see stuff like this happen. Or B) The in-house social media/marketing department are all Camry, Corolla, Prius and Highlander drivers. lol

Shouldn't be a reason to whimp out on their 'social advertising'.

Weak marketing team. Makes me wonder 'newly graduated never driven in 4wd themselves' types? IE can't 'relate'. Or are they accurate, and this is the terrain the actual majority of buyers conquer?

Seems like flaunting a Toyota Racing Development Professional would want to lean to a more 'my 2wd can't go there' motif so it's easier to upsell.

Nothing wrong with any of those. The all fulfill certain purposes better than any Tacoma ever could.

But I agree they probably have a lack of real world experiences.

It's why I was a 3 vehicle owner with only 2 drivers for many years. Purpose purchases. A truck was just one niche. I could buy, maintain and insure 3 nice used examples for less money than one new vehicle filled with compromise.

Nothing wrong with those at all, they probably just don't understand the Tacoma community. Loved my 89 Corolla 5sp MT, and the 89 Corolla All-Track Wagon 5sp MT with the push button 4WD, that was a fun car in the winter!

Unfortunately the reality is a true car "enthusiast" running social media by trade/career/job is few and far between. Do I think they should be at least somewhat knowledgeable about their products they're advertising? Sure, but from a quick glance at the front (where most people who aren't enthusiasts would look), it could very easily be a "Pro" due to *just* the grille. Not a lot of people aside from enthusiasts would know that's a QS OR with a Pro grille.

Agreed. At least a portion of those who hang out here.

However, I still say the majority of Tacomas never do anything too tough. Many are bought for 4wd in winter climes and HD trips.

Nothing wrong with that. I don't even have 4wd or 6 lugnuts, because I don't need them.

Oddly enough, their ad may appeal to many a soccer dad. Yea, I think that's a thing.

However, showing the vehicles in more difficult situations makes even the ones who will never do that feel 'they could'. And want to be able to. Should zombie, hurricane or other create a need.

The two glaring issues with this post are 1) It's not a TRD Pro and 2) It isn't exactly "off the beaten path"
