Just like PA. I grew up playing the inspection game and finding the shops that let stuff slide. I've been in Ohio for 22 years now, and there is no inspection at all here. There is e-check in two counties (Cleveland and Cincinatti), but that's it. People do whatever they want to their vehicles, and I have gotten into that habit too. I am starting to worry about our eventual relocation and having to un-mod my truck. I also have a '68 Firebird that's been so thoroughly hot-rodded that it probably could never be registered in PA. I hope PA and VA are the exceptions.

I once had a "4X4" decal across the top of my windshield and I got pulled over for that.

From what I've read it's definitely worth it if you're experiencing any sort of vibrations. The install tool makes it loads easier, but since it's a one time thing, there's a few of them floating around here for members to use. Also you'll want a new axle seal because apparently you'll tear up your old one taking it out.
