Mine came with two LCA holes plugged up. I taped up the other ones. It did make a difference. If it wasn't raining I'd go take a pic so you could see what I'm referring to. Maybe later.

Mine had all 3 plugged on both sides just as the TSB shows, mine was not a wind related sound at all.

Well maybe I need a pick of yours!

I honestly don't know why they only plugged the two big holes on my LCA.
Oh well, two seconds and duct tape for a temp fix for now. I'll get the other plug next time I'm at the dealer.

If you Google the TSB for that it shows the 3 holes plugged, someone must have been slacking the day yours was made, lol.

This is true. Mine is much louder at the same speed range/throttle input when going downhill.

Except mine sings loudest around 59 mph, not 52.

If you taped up the ones that are on the lowest part of the control arm those don't get plugged cause that's to allow water to pass through so you're control arm dosent Rot out..

I have noticed the howling can be heard more with the rear window ( back of cab) open . Has anyone had another vehicle drive along side a howling Tacoma to see if they hear it , and how loud it is ?

At 60mph I'd guess they can only hear wind noise. How about a gopro clipped under the frame in a somewhat wind protected area near the rear diff?

    I might try this today.

I have an appointment next Tuesday to get the pinion preload checked.

In other news the front brakes started squeaking again. Did you get yours fixed?

I think one of the guys on YouTube taped an old smartphone under there to record it howling.

Ha couldn't tell you. Hard to hear over the 392 headers and glass packs.

I will tell you that in perfect running condition it rode, steered, stopped, rattled like total shit.

Had a pto winch on it though, that was handy. Now that I remissness, I miss that truck.

Hey quick question for ya...I got a sticker with a barcode, looks like part number, on the back of my diff...not unusual I understand, but it's a fairly clean paper based sticker. Bought the buggy 6 weeks ago and I have put slightly less than 2k miles (look at that unmetricized kanadian eh?) in a Canadian late winter...and the truck has about 18k miles. Methinks the sticker is in way way too clean condition to be original. Truck was Toyota dealer purchased and certified. Would this perhaps indicate TSB of sorts applied? I know you've had work on yours, wondering if I post a pic could get your opinion.

    I don't have any howl

I'll grab my phone and edit in the pic
