They are the same shaped bed so all shells that are long beds or all that are short beds will work the same. The only difference in the beds is that 6luggers have fender flares and 5luggers do not

I read the same thing on my extensive use of the search button... Hahaha. There was enough anecdotal evidence to suggest, in very rare circumstances, that it would be beneficial. For $30, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have on hand. I spend more on gas each month, anyways lol

The two main negative things I hear people say about it is 1) it starves the diff of oil because it's rotated, not dropped and 2) you lose ground clearance because of it. I would like someone to show me a single case of a failed diff because of starved oil. And this is off of Mobtowns website regarding their skid plate. Just shows that you lose maybe 1/4" of ground clearance. You'll be fine! It doesn't help much, but it does help.

That's the same conclusion I came to. CV joints/axles are a Hell of a lot cheaper than fixing a fubar'd differential. I'm pretty anal about maintenance and checking my stuff. I used to specialize in diagnostics/driveability when I was a service tech.... Many moons ago. There littlest noise/out of the norm feeling drives me crazy. Losing a quarter of an inch isn't that big of a problem, but lifted bro lol

    Edited for spelling

Ahaha I think we're on different sides of this debate without realizing it. I'm all for diff drops.

As i was changing my oil i noticed a clean spot on my cv axle that looked suspicious as fuh. Especially since i had warped rotors for like 20k miles. And it seemingly constantly pulls to that side. Thoughts?
20170407_165108.jpg looks like the boot moved back like an inch amirite?

I totally get your side. I'm not really for or against, but I understand the merits of each side. The unknown is if the starving issue is true, the known is that high angles on CV joints is bad, so I'm holding on to my diff drop and I'm watching how the CVs react to the angles they're at. If it chews them ( land leftist the needle bearing in the diff) up, I'll install it. I don't seem too have the drive shaft vibrations either, but I'm still going to order the rear axle shims just in case it's a slower developing problem. The shims from Toytec are only $18. I see no problems at least having them both on hand and examining how each component reacts on my particular Tacoma to the lift

I sure hope. Would shuddering from the rotors fuck up anything up front?

Just do the inner boot stretch mod and the ECGS bushing and it'll be fine.
