Any idea what this aftermarket switch does?

    By popular demand, I opened up the panel. The switch connects to some green wires headed in the direction of the stereo.

    I checked in the stereo manual and found this: "Light green - Used to detect the ON/OFF status of the parking brake. This lead must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake switch."

    So it's a way to make my stereo think the parking brake is on so I can scroll through my contacts list on the stereo.

    Led light is usually a dealership or aftermarket installed alarm. It just blinks when you lock the doors. Just a guess on that though. I have a little blue one that blinks when I lock the truck. I figure it's a good deterrent for thieves.
