I had the same issue with my truck. I went with Icon extended and Their UCA. After installed I got 2.25" of lift out of the box with no adjustment. I also installed new toyo's AT2 265/70/17 non E and got it aligned. The truck rode really stiff for sure and I waited for a breakin period which never came. I drive the shit freeways in LA and it definitely wasnt sucking up those bumps. After about 1,000 miles I took out about 3 full turns of preload (7/16")and lowered the tire pressure to 35lbs. The ride got a whole lot better. Previous air pressure was 38-39. I will get it aligned again since the steering is still stiff and not completely self centering.

It's AVS. I Think they have both the clip on and the hard one with 3m. I really like this one with the 3m. Country roads don't destroy my windshield as much during may fly season.

Dropped to 31F and 30R. muuuuuch better. Gonna get it re aligned since I have a service do on Friday just in case. Steering wheel isn't quite straight.
Noticed the new bead indentions on the tread were wearing off the middle tread a bit more so then the ones on the outside. Needed less air for sure.

Still feel a little of the new stiff springs, but that is fine until I get the bumper I'm looking at or it settles.
    Thanks everyone.

For what it's worth my C-Rated 35s are at 25psi Rear and 28psi Front.

1/4" preload is not going to affect ride quality, these are linear rate springs, and there is no spring rate increase with preload. 5100's ride harsh, my opinion they are over dampened, at least for my AC.

Re measure from the center of your front tire (hub) to the lip of the fender. Factory Hub to fender I believe is 20.5". Stock UCA's are good for about 2" of front lift. Your pic looks to have more than that.

Post up your alignment sheet, and we might be able to help a little more. My guess is you have very little castor.

2.25" sounds pretty high out of the box. I believe mine was set at 1.5" out of the box. Also 38-39 psi sounds pretty high as well. I'm at 35, and I know it was much softer at 30.

Ask your alignment guy to loosen all front suspension components
And re tighten with the truck on the ground. I'm not sure who did your lift but this is a very common mistake I see when lifts get installed. If the shocks, upper and lower control arms where tightend at full drop it will give a harsh ride and destroy your bushings pretty quickly.

This. AAL sucks if you're looking for a soft ride

If the rear was the problem I'd swap it out. But the rear wasn't where most the feedback was from, it was the front.

Guy I got today seemed much more competent. He was saying how they tried to put me on stock numbers, instead of adjusting for the lift.
Not sure if the numbers say the same, but I know my steering wheel is straight and he said the adjustments he made should help it track better and have less unnecessary wear.

All I know is she drives a shit ton better now. IMG_4139.jpg

Interesting...I'm going to compare that to mine when I find it. I'm having similar issues. Already aired down, definitely helped the ride, but it' still all over the road. It's comparable to my 1990 ranger beater that hasn't been road worthy in about 5 years. I had it aligned after the lift but before the 285s. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.
