    Getting there.

Naturally, i should've gone one more size up on the screws i got. :frusty:

I also scratched it, so screw the gloss finish. It'll get textured at some point.

It all starts so innocently... Thinking about grabbing one of the tapered walls for the awning. :annoyed:

I never put these pics in the build thread and it was slightly hard to find them in the original Indel B group buy thread.

    Parts Used:
    Igloo Hinges
    Igloo Latch

    Smittybilt Transit Bag

The Smittybilt Bag fits the 51L perfectly other than the fact that it covers up the display. The vent mesh is in the correct spots. I had to modify mine slightly to work with my different setup. I just cut it as needed, and taped the edges with black gorilla tape. Works great and has held up for at least a year.

The fridge is mounted on a platform where the rear drivers side seat used to be. The way the lid opened up wasn't going to work for me since it would not open fully, and you would have to hold it with one hand, or your head while digging in the fridge.

I took off the latch, the hinge is just two spring loaded pins that you push in from one side at a time through the small holes.

I installed some cooler hinges and a latch, and voila, it opens correctly! And seals as good as new. It has been setup this way since before I turned it on after the 24 hour wait after shipping.

I used the screws provided with the latch/hinges and pre-drilled before installing the screws. (Dont recall what size off the top of my head)

Where did you find those latches and hinges? Those are pretty sweet.

Just added the hinges and latch to my Amazon cart. I'm keeping my fridge behind the driver seat, so this mod needs to happen at some point. Nice work!

Thanks. Works well and I have not had any issue. Just make sure you get the hinge screws tight, but not over tighten them! I have not had to adjust them at all since I put them in. Cant remember if I put RTV on the threads or not. I meant to but not sure if I did.

Did the screws you used come with the hinges and latch?

    Yes sir.

I did pre-drill them just to make them go in a little easier.

So... I've been battling a vibration since the truck was new, with 6 miles on it.

It feels like a well out of balance tire up front. A shake that can be felt through the steering wheel and visually seen.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2015-tacoma-slight-at-speed-vibration.366345/

After the dealer told me to go fuck myself... I chalked it up to the crappy stock tires/suspension.

Put OME stuff on and it did ride better, vibration seemed to go away a little, but I think it was just the excitement for a lift! It was still there. Put Duratracs on, still rode like poo. Had them balanced multiple times (I think the accentuated the issue with the extra weight). Road force balanced, nothing ever mattered. Same 60+ vibration. After I had the OME suspension, I never bothered with the shitty dealer since I knew they would just blame the suspension... since they wouldn't own up to an issue when it was 100% stock with under a few hundred miles.

Tires have been balanced, rotated, multiple alignments... same shit different day.

I would love to try and figure out the issue, but at the same time, I would also be willing to just get rid of the truck and get something that does not ride like my 1998 Jeep Cherokee with bad ball joints. I want to do longer trips and this cant be ignored any longer. I will NOT purchase another new Toyota after dealing with this, and the dealer's lack of service. I've been told that this was "just how the truck is made", the same thing with the coolant smell from under the hood. No excuses for the 25k mile rear main seal leak (all service was done at the dealer until then). This one was certainly a 4:47pm on a Friday build at the Toyota factory!

    Back to the details:

Vibration above 55-60mph. Felt and seen through the steering wheel regularly. Sometimes it isn't as bad as others.

Happened since it had 6 miles on it... yes 6. Went back to the dealer 2-3 times, was told "its normal and they all do it"

    • suspension has been changed, front and rear shocks more than once
    • different tires, balanced, rotated vibration is always up front
    • aligned a ton of times (never off, just feels like it)
    • sometimes shakes worse than others, if I hit the brakes when its shaking, it'll act like a jeep with death wobble.
    • I changed out the rotors and pads thinking they were warped, but I've realized that its this suspension issue.
    • Sway bar is on
    • Stock UCA's always able to get the alignment in spec
    • Took off front skid
    • Adjusted tire pressures
    • On long straight road, put it in 4wd, no change at speed
From about 1:00-1:30 it was vibrating through the steering wheel. Then 3:30-4:00 or so. Thats when I was above 55mph. Road was fairly smooth and uphill.

Any ideas? I'd love to get it figured out, but am decreasingly interested in throwing money at it blindly hoping for a solution. Any large amounts of money will be going towards a replacement if it gets to that point. The closest Chevy dealer has one out of three ZR2's that are not pre sold yet. :stirthepot:

    Any suggestions?
Mine has no tiny holes in the front to access the front latch release and the back hinge (near the read out) looks impossible to remove. Great mod by the way!
    Thanks. Any help is appreciated.
