Have you tried to adjust the existing mechanism? I see three components that impact this. The loop on the hood that is captured by the latch on the center support and the cable that runs from the lever in the cab to the latching mechanism. If I were to guess, I would suspect the position of the hood loop which might indicate a hood alignment issue. The the latch can be moved too. Have you lubed it? Is it dry?

Do first gens have the little rubber bumpers you can screw in and out to adjust the hood latch play? Check for those first @m3bassman they're usually on the front edges of the core support

 

Yes, we do have those. And you are right, that is a 4th component that impacts this if they are too high.

Sooooo while people in the world have real issues of paying bills, finding shelter, putting food on the table etc, you are complaining about meeting an awesome girl and feel conflicted on the fact that you're life circumstances won't let you explore that option. Even though in reality you can make the choice to pursue it (path less taken) and can put aside the circumstances (path most taken) that you perceive to hold you back. And with the supposed "white privelage" that is being thrown around in this era it's a joke on a problem only a white person would have, because it's not really a life threatening issue in the sense of how will I survive.

Bottom line it's a joke on there are worse problems in life to have. har har har

To be more precise, I got one of my cans from there. The other one I got from Steve Nickles. But he got his from there too.

Also, not a big fan of the 'CARB complaint' spouts being sold now. It might be worth verifying those new style spouts still fit correctly on the older cans.

 

Thanks guys! When I bought from Castlerock they suggested that they could order a new one for a deal, but considering that the windshield they put in was leaky and took them two months to replace, I don't exactly trust them.

 

No i havn't looked into them..don't you need like..an engine cage or something for the pins to attach too??

Im with everyone else though. Go out and look at it. Something is probably off. Hell on Igor's passenger door the door latch loop was loose as hell..anything is possible.

Just got back from Toungue Rive Canyon. Super nice up there. Was a good hike. Man it was perfect weather. Bit brisk but not cold. No snow in sight...of course its supposed to snow tomorrow.....damn..


Also had a guy msg me on FB about his 04 tacoma. Engine shit the bed. Said he would cut me a good deal on it..gonna go look at it tomorrow. its a 5psd TRD with 260k on the clock. Has Camburg coil overs and Dakar leaf springs.
