    Hi Fellas,

Anyone install a Pelfreybilt, RCI, or other rear bumper on their 3rd Gen?

I'm thinking this might be one of the first items I'd like to add!

    Looking for:
    • Higher clearance than stock with tow hitch
    • Bolt on? No cutting required

    Pelfreybilt

    RCI

What do you guys think? Pictures?

    Thank you.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
When I can afford it I will get a CBI with table, gas, and tire racks. I've already messed up the plastic stock one.

They give you measurements in the instructions. I don't mind cutting. Mine is a pelfrey and fit and finish is on point.

Mobtown. Receiver behind plate. Cutting doesn't increase clearance but does protect quarters if that is needed.

As soon as one comes out that works with bsm I'm all over it. I attempted to take my hitch off but realized it's all one piece with the bumper brackets.

If I completely give up on BSM it will be CBI likely.

so let me get this straight. the 4 little round sensors are the parking sonar. is that black square behind the dangling parking sensor in my ripped up bumper pic above the BSM? one on each corner, and they dont work through metal, correct? Somebody made a prototype that works with BSM but can't remember who.

I've thought about giving up on it. But it's so helpful when backing up. Especially with my top/tent.

Correct. C4 fab has a compatible bumper. They have plastic covers cut out into the steel bumper.

So what don't you like about the c4?

I'm thinking about skipping the swingouts. Can just put spare in bed for wheeling and won't have to move camera. Plus save some money. RCI works with BSM but the monitors sit "slightly below" bumper with brackets. To me that sounds like they will be obliterated.

I disagree. I measured and got about 1.5" more clearance from the ground behind the tire. Not huge but it's it more clearance, and side protection. I would say biggest improvement of aftermarket bumper is the hitch behind license plate. The gains about 5-6" by looks alone. And huge improve in departure angle. No dragging hitch

I saw shawns bumper in person and it looked really nice. I have been looking at the pelfreybilt rear as the hitch was well braced and the fit and finish was very nice.
