Told the guys at Toyota to use hand tools only while rotating my wheels to avoid scaring them. The check-in guy assured me that they used hand tools only however when I get home to clean my wheels I notice dings in two of the wheels. Just curious to how some of you would feel if this happened to you? Wheels are FN Six Shooter just shy of a year old. Oh and BTW one of my lug nuts where swollen which prevented them from rotating one wheel and that's the area that has the scar. Other wheel to my knowledge had no lug nut issues. Picture attached is the worse wheel scarIMG_1339.jpg . Thanks for you opinions.

Sorry that happened to you man. Idk how to really handle that. I would deffinately go back and have a talk to the manager. Idk if it'll do any good I guess if you holler loud enough they may replace the wheel worth a try anyway

That's a bummer. My guesss is since you didn't notice until you got home that the shop will say, "sorry, but we don't know that didn't happen after you left." It sucks and I'm sorry for ya. I always try and do a good visual inspection before and after getting any work done so that if anything does happen I can bring it up before I leave the shop. I know it's not always fun to be "that guy" who looks like he's second guessing the techs/wheel guys/etc. but the sad fact is that some people just don't care about the quality of their work and will half-ass every job they can.

I wouldn't be happy, I always check before before I leave the dealership.

I'm not going to comment on your other post on the same subject.

I wouldn't notice another scratch on my wheels.

Also wouldn't let a dealership touch anything I cared about...

Damn bro, a swollen nut to boot?

Wheels dont stay perfect. Get some nail polish and touch up and move on. I dinged up my one week old Methods on a trail, bummed out for about an hr and moved on.

I bought the least expensive black wheels in the corect size and BS for this very reason. I expect them to get beat up.

Sorry, but it's why no one but me has ever rotated upscale wheels on the few rides I've had with them.

In fact, I've been known to take two wheels at a time to have tires mounted, just so they would not have to touch them more than needed.

Even my little 5 lug with my spare tire wheel 'build' I pull the trim rings and center caps from before heading to get my free rotations at Costco. And when I get home I break all the nuts loose and re torque, just so I don't get in a pickle some dark and stormy night not being able to get a lug off.

While having the stock aluminum wheels on my 09 Tacoma rotated and balanced at America's Tire I caught the guy that was working on my wheels pounding on one of my wheels with a hammer and screwdriver trying to get an old wheel weight off. I immediately got the manager and I told him that he was buying me two new wheels because there was another wheel that was also damaged by the same person.

Yeah I was worried about them saying something like that, but it's obvious that it was caused by a tool and not a curb or rock. I guess I'll see what happens Monday. Already called and left a message.

Dude i have no idea...they said to get the swollen lug nut off would take another hour and I had already been waiting for three. Had to get to work so it had to wait. Going back on Monday to figure it out.
