To think that it was almost a year ago that we did this. Wish the weather was like that now with no snow! Felt pretty badass to convoy down the road like that lol

Yeah last time around this year there was some water, maybe 10 inches deep or so but only on the first bit of the trail before you hit the dunes, it was completely dry after that. Was a good time out there

Who wants to try driving out to Seven Mile Lake and Osar Lake from the Denali Highway?

Had been meaning to get these made for a long time now. It'd be a huge help in expanding our group and members. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I haven't ordered them yet so please give feedback! Once I order them you guys can message me and I can give you some so we can start sticking em on nice Tacoma's we see. Also I think it would help if we started an official member list or something along with the picture of the truck so we don't stick em on trucks that are already members (in case that'd ever be an issue). Just a thought.

I had a bunch for the site, gave mine to @benbacher when I left for the Philippines. Don't think anything came about because of them. :notsure:

Might be worth a shot to start trying it again. With all the new 3rd gens out I've seen a ton of nice ones around. I know for a fact that the tAKoma stickers on the back of our windows help lol that's how I found the group

If the weather conditions are good enough I'd like to try them at the end of May. Osar Lake is about 7 miles, Seven Mile Lake is about 7.5 miles, Landmark Gap Lake is about 2.5 miles. Landmark Gap would probably be the best trail to start on since everyone has to drive a ways to get there. Meet on the highway, get organized, and drive out to camp at Landmark Gap Lake for the first night. The three trails are all within about a 15 mile stretch of road.

Edit - there's also a road/trail that runs out to Roosevelt Lake that's supposed to be a pretty easy trip.

Sounds like a good plan. I'd probably be able to know if I'd be down for sure by early to mid may. I've got flight training so it depends on my schedule. You got any pictures of your truck since you installed that bumper!?

Edit: Nevermind I found em, truck looks badass. I forgot I had already seen it lol

Saturday May 13 I'm going offroading somewhere... Location tbd. I'm hoping to take a friend from school that wants to get into offroading.

    Anyone want to join?

I'll be mapping whatever trail we go on for trailsoffroad.com too, so I'll be making a video, taking pictures, and recording the GPS data of the trail too.

My list of trails that might be good by then is:
    • Boulder Creek (might be fairly deep with spring melt off still)-Kind of boring once after the creek, trails loop around iirc.
    • Eska Falls (never been myself) guaranteed to be muddy. :mudding:x10 lol
    • Permanente Trail should be good, some muddy spots for sure :mudding:
    • Kings River Trail (never been myself) should be good, probably similar to Permanente with muddy spots.
    • Mt. Baldy B-29 Trail (we have done part of this as a meet before, but took the wrong turn and couldn't get up the hills due to winter conditions and Brandon not airing down and icing over the trail :smack:) This supposedly has a very steep hill climb and will also be muddy in parts, wet in most parts.
All of the Hatcher Pass trails will still be super snowy and closed off, so unless we want to drive to Willow to enter and exit Hatcher Pass (no thanks) those are out.

@300AACTaco you better come on this one, you missed out on the last one!

I've heard reports that driving to the glacier is easy right now, crossings just about 20" deep. That silt though.

What rating are you working on?

I'm still trying to figure out if this plan would work. I want to take a weekend trip down the area to check out the conditions before committing to this and finding out it's too wet/muddy/snowy on the trails to be any fun. If those trails aren't an option anyone else have ideas for a good place to hit some trails and camp out in a small group of trucks?

Just my private pilot this summer, just finished ground school. It'd definitely be fun to go out with some sweet trucks!

You planning on getting a plane in the future? They are a far greater money pit than a truck lol!
