It was actually Friday night but I did my first oil change on my truck! 300+ miles later engine didn't grenade. I did something right:bananadance:.

On a side note any recommendations/tips on cleaning the engine bay? Dry mud everywhere :D. Next time I need to clean it off before doing anything.

If you're like me you get dirty a lot. I buy the $1 store cleaner and tire shine. Spray her down with pressure washer and wipe all the engine bay plastic with cheap tire shine. Make it look like it just left the dealer.

Not everyone has a TRD skid plate, so it's good for them to know their options. Besides, a simple notch on the skid plate would fix the issue IIRC.

If you like butchering your skid plate, well.....I don't. A "good option" would be a design that actually fits.

The spot that would need to be "notched" would cut metal from an already marginal strength area.

Thanks! My goal was to maintain versatility with the ability to remove everything off of the bed by myself if I need to. So far so good! I should finish getting the rack painted and mounted up on the truck again today, but I'm still undecided on what to do with the basket. It's polished aluminium, so painting it would be a pain in the ass. I don't know if I want it powder coated black to sorta match the rest of the truck or leave it as is.

The skid plate in and of itself is fairly weak, and not meant to be used for anything other than the occasional accidental bump into something with not much force. I don't think a little notch is going to weaken it more, but I digress. If you don't want to notch it, then more power to you.

I run 886 on the OME nitrochargers. Before the steel plate bumper, winch, skids and sliders I was riding level at about 3".
After adding all of the above and a little time, the front had settled a bit and give me some rake back. Which for me is perfect, I like a truck with rake. Just an fyi @Nbaker , sounds like you might have a little front end weight too.
