I agree with this, could be fun to spend a few weekends to seek out some good shops and take some notes of what you like. If you want a legit used market, get on Pinkbike. That is where I have gotten all my used stuff from. You would be surprised how many guys swap out components ever year on there for some bikes that barely get used. Besides my carbon Bromad frame, all my stuff is atleast a year or two old when I got them.

Nice @DOSS, thanks for the review. It all makes sense, especially the install of lighting before. I bet that's a world of a difference finding your gear.

Did someone say Taco's & Bikes? I'm there!! This was after a three day, 150 mile, trek along the Trail of the Coeur d' Alene in Idaho that is a wonderful, paved, 72 mile bike trail that is well documented, serviced and maintained. Had a blast!!! Great thread!!

That's a great deal. It's carbon, got a pike fork, seat dropper, Thompson, xt. Its a 26 but who cares. That's a really nice bike for the money.

Anyone looking for a raceface tailgate bike pad for their 3rd gen? Only used once, ended up buying a hitch mounted rack. PM me if your interested, hopefully someone local to Ann Arbor, MI area so I don't have to ship it :)

That's a steal man...like others said...carbon. Paint chips happen when you use it. This deal is mainly possible because of the 26 inch wheels. Industry 9 wheels are pretty expensive alone, with the pike and a canecreek you are set up pretty good. Im also quite a fan of transition bikes, they are built by riders, for riders. Pull the trigger if you can.

If you can get it, I don't think there would be much if at all to invest into improving it.

Check out pinkbike. You can filter your search by state. I found this Santa Cruz Heckler in Large with 27.5 wheels in North Carolina that's within your budget https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2150131/

Not trying to keep piling this thread up with me trying to get advice so im sorry for that :oops: but trying to figure out where its best for me to put my money. The small tire bikes appeal to me because im sure they will allow for more jerkin off on the trails bring back my bmx days. But then again i dont want something that cant clime either. heres a few locals ive picked out up for sale on pink bike out of the ones mentioned is there a stand out? The transition i posted earlier sold today. And the yeti is one of my favorites Could be all the youtube videos ive watched the past month. But shes pricy. And im not sure how well it will climb.
