My service manager recommended keeping lift and tire size increase very mild IF I decided to change it out. He basically said once you start going over 2 and 3" it gets very hard for them to honor warranty stuff. Toyota corporate can be a real pain to deal with. If you regear you can pretty much assume everything from the transmission back will be voided. Engine *should* still be ok.

Of course a lift would not affect things like electronics or say your air conditioner warranty. It's just common sense if the mods are related to the failure or can be construed to be related you may be at risk.

Once again faster than 2nd gen in 1/4 and gauntlet tow test by a whopping 45 seconds !!!
2nd gen couldnt keep up, period.

    Eh.... not like he'll respond.

Bottom line is I'm tired of guys blaming lackluster performance on the fact it is a truck.

Comparing apples to apples, drive a 2nd gen AT and a 3rd gen AT. The 2nd gen is a much more satisfying driving experience.

However 3rd beats it in towing and 1/4. You looking for only torque off the line or a work truck ????

Most guys want a truck that can go into a headwind and stay in overdrive...

In Kansas? Have you ever looked at a map?

I know you're just being facetious, but weather causes guys like me to demand more from my truck than you.

Tacoma: Mmm, somethings rattling and clunking and making a funny sounds, fawk it I'll deal with it in 100k miles.

Colarado & the rest: Shit, somethings rattling and clunking and making a funny sound, better get it to the dealer now before I'm stranded in Gatlinburg, a lot.

Pulling 5k loads here instead of driving in the wind with no issues.

Slow up hop-along... I'm calling BS on you.

If you're pulling 5K loads you aren't doing it at 80mph in 6th gear.

We aren't even talking about the same thing. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Now the details of 80 mph come out.
If what gear I was shifting in and out of at 80 were important I would have bought a sports car.
    These are work trucks btw.
