Slider Question

Hello, need a little help with who sells sliders for a 4 door long bed in southern california. I have been able to find ones for the short bed from allpro but nothing for the longbed. I know a few people who can make them but they are mostly "newbe" welders and I would rather spend the $$ on some that work! I have been following this thread http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/36095-pick-my-sliders.html but I would really like a local option if possible.

Not to be a dick or anything, but why don't you pick up the phone and call All pro to see if they make sliders for the long bed?

Or do some searching around on this sight, there are about 4-6 places that advertise in the vendor section...

 

Really a phone? Damm why did i not try that? No really it's fine but they have them for short beds but not long beds. They said they could fab something but it would take some time. Also I was wanting to pick them up locally if possible. I do not want to wait 2-4 months like some of the ones on the thread I linked. So if anyone knows someone who has them in stock in socal for a long bed please let me know.

DeMello just had a group buy on sliders. I bit the bullet and ordered them. (double cab long bed). Give them a shout. Very friendly and easy to do business with, as well as being highly recommended by many othe TW members.

If Beefed doesn't have them for the long bed, he is a really great guy to work with (he is woking on custom sliders for my truck now), and would probably be willing to build you a set. It would just take a few trips to his place so he can get measurements and mocks up and stuff....shoot him a message....he makes quality stuff, as you can see on that thread.

 

Contact Demello, I just ordered a week or so ago and it was a good experience. Their 20% off deal ended yesterday but maybe you can talk them into giving it to you.

 

Demello is overpriced as f*ck. I called them to get a price on weld on sliders. They said well...$385 less 20% for the group buy, add $75 to powdercoat, and then we will install for $150. OH yeah, then add tax.

Almost $600 for weld ons.

I am going to AZ to get mine...Brandon from Avid Offroad said he will do them for half that price installed. No, I do not mind driving to AZ.

 

Yeah for half price and a better slider I would take a drive for sure!

 

That's good, if I was willing to drive to AZ I might have done the same. But I ordered my hybrid weld ons installed and powdercoated for $560 out the door. If Brandon did $300 for the same thing out the door that's an amazing deal. But for me the $150 + in gas and at least one entire day of driving is kinda worth it for me. And that makes the total price less appealing.

 

Yah, even if Demello matched the price I would prefer Avid's because I think they look better. I have never been to AZ, so I want to go look around. It is an added bonus for me.

 

Yeah thats cool, I really liked the look of the Hybrid with the square bar....just looked really beefy. However I don't see a major difference between the Avid sliders and the Demello standard or HD models.

AZ is cool, I lived there for a year or so back in college.

 

Shrockworks make some for the double cab long bed. I got the bolt-on style. Not at all interested in weld-on sliders. They are pricey but very well made. I'm quite pleased with them (even with the $192cdn shipping price)

 

Dumb ?, why not weld them on? Resale issue maybe? lease? I am sure there are good reasons so let me know why not to weld them to the frame

 

Mainly easier to remove, touch-ups, selling the truck, etc.

My father been a welder for 30+ years and said he wouldn't weld anything to the frame if it was his truck

 

Good enough for me, last dumb question (for the day atleast) how much stronger are they if you weld them on?
