    In the pit (navy ship boiler room) we would weld a wheel (rim) to the bulkhead and beat the shit out of it with wrenches when we busted our knuckles while wrenching or burned our skin off wasn't good enough. And if someone laughed then that was common practice. It often resulted in a fight behind the boiler and rank never mattered in the pit. To this day when I injure myself (like a busted nail or bump to the head or 2nd or less degree burn) and someone laughs I go after them. All salt and grit. Your tale brings back great, painful, and camaraderie like memories. We never bought lunch as a I'm sorry. The laugher bought the laughy a shot of whiskey, a beer, and a game of stick (billiards).
