Things must be more strict elsewhere, no joke l asked on a Wednesday if l could have an extended test drive so they copied my license and pulled a brand new OR up and said bring it back on Friday.

It's not Toyota's fault, blame it on the government regs that caused this. Or Obama whichever comes first.
I have never seen Consumer Reports have a lower rating ever on a truck. I like my 2015.

Bottom line is I don't speed. I don't go 80 miles an hour. It probably does do it in a 30 mph headwind at 80 , I don't know ,it doesn't matter to me, don't care . I bought a truck for practical reasons. Buy a sports car next time. Or USE S MODE.

@Masterofnone you got it. Windy Wyoming. Speed are around 30 mph right now. Spring snow storm coming through tonight.

@2016Tacoman 80 mph is not speeding where I live. Using S5 or S6 mode will not keep the truck in overdrive. If it wants it will still downshift to 4th gear.

I also bought my truck for practical reasons. Like driving on the interstate. I like my Tacoma but am not good my to deny it needs a few tweaks to really perform well.

Don't have too. I row a stick. Or did you miss that part?

Edit: Oh and it certainly will NOT do it, as I found out driving a OR DCSB AT before I bought my MT. Wouldn't hold 70mph. That was enough to convince me.

Wyoming is beautiful. I especially like the Gillette and Devils Tower area... never been a fan of trees...

@2016Tacoman is a lost cause. I could hit him in the head and READ your post too him. He won't get it.

We should probably just do what @smitty99 suggests: let him huff and puff a little then he'll go away.

5 pages and the OP solved his own problem in the 1st post, gotta love TW.
Life is really too short and if you are not happy, do something about it ( hint: TW won't solve this for you)

My rear end makes a minor humming sound at 20-25 miles per hour that I have to turn the radio off to hear but it stops once I reach higher speeds so it's not a howling problem.

TW has me so paranoid that my rear differential is going to break that I keep my radio off most of the time.

I have no issues with the auto trans and I came from a six speed manual in a 2014 Scion tC that did have more low end power than this truck but that car weighs half as much as this truck so it's expected to be s little quicker on its feet. I bought the truck in auto trans because I wanted MTS and crawl control since I am a novice to off roading and thought those gadgets would be useful eventhough I rarely do any aggressive off roading it's mainly dirt trails for when I go to the river bank for fishing.

Maybe I should get off this forum for a few days and just enjoy my truck.

You could say the same thing about hypochondriacs who hover over webmd.

I'm just curious if OP has addressed his concerns with a dealer, or just us. The problems described are all over the place and sounds like a hodgepodge of tw whining posts.

If what you are saying is true, go get your truck fixed. Mine drives great for what it is. I have a high altitude commute with hills on the highway that has 75mph limit and it does fine. Best mpg so far was 24.3 on my way home. Yeah if you want to go 75 or more up a hill you have to give it more gas, which seems like common sense but anyway. It's not a sports car and doesn't drive like one, so if that's what you expect then your expectations are wrong.
