2017 tacoma stick shift

Hey peeps I have a 2017 tacoma off road stick shift it's making some rattle noise like metal to metal when I go over bumps or wholes in neutral or while shifting anyone els with this problems?

have you owned a MT truck before? flywheels and bellhousings can make a bit 'o noise.

 

The stick is directly connected to the transmission, it's subject to the same jolts, vibrations, and movements the drivetrain has. Where is your typical econobox manuals are separated with linkages or cables that dampen movement before it reaches the lever. It will lead to more cabin noise but poly engine and trans mounts will reduce movement if that's what you're after.

 

Yes I had stick shift trucks before, but nothing like that, the noise seems to come from the rear here is the video

It sounds like the same noise mine makes, and has made since new. Go over bumps with the clutch depressed and clank clank. I suspect it's the slack in the driveline doing it, but that's just my opinion. It seems to become less annoying right after I grease the driveshafts, in particular the zerks in the rear (for those that have them).
