We have had three white Gen 2 Tacomas. All three have had a problem with an exhaust stain forming on the lower body panel above the exhaust pipe. One of the trucks had the OEM exhaust extension. Has this problem been resolved on the Gen 3 Tacomas?

I had the stain on my 14 taco, the 16 taco gets it but not as bad, it wipes off quite easily.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with that. Would give your truck some character. Would make it look like it works hard.

The stain only occurs the winter....a combination of road dust and moisture from the exhaust. It all gets trapped behind the mudflap. It doesn't damage the paint and can be removed with aggressive polishing. But it is a pain in ass to clean up. So does it still happen with the third Gens?

I don't think anybody has this issue, at least they're not talking about it.

if i had it i personally would not think to complain, or even find it strange or abnormal. i figure it's a truck and is primarily for work duties (even if i did end up buying a Pro). but whatever you like.

Stop idling and start moving? Mine is white, not seeing it, but I don't sit there letting it warm up either. Must be icy and cold in your parts? Mine also has that black plastic cladding under there. Not sure if that's the same area you're describing.
