So help me get this right.
Jimmy pulled the carpet to find mud stains around his cab plugs, probably from a pseudo sub event. Mike pulled his carpet to find some tub repair necessary. Both were going with vinyl, and Mike found some inexpensive sub flooring. But now Jimmy wants to go Tarzan, yet the inexpensive sub flooring makes him reconsider that perhaps going Brazilian is sufficient? Is either looking at the door seals? My foray into the submarine world was accelerated by the water pouring in through the doors. Also, is the cab plugs are the source, why not seal them off? My 86 had vinyl, and I would just hose it out. Maybe a tub of mastic before the vinyl? The better job you do preventing water from getting in makes it harder to get out.

I subbed mine twice. Up in shamokin. Had water coming through my door speakers. It sucked. When I tore everything out to clean I thought of just putting bedliner down and doing the rubber floor http://www.toyotaonlineparts.com/oe-toyota/5851004870b2 But I decided to just put the carpet back in. if I did bedliner the interior and get water inside I couldn't pull a plug to let the water out. I try to stay out of deep water now. Or at least not be the first one in. IMG_5062.jpgIMG_5063.jpg IMG_5064.jpg

I forgot to add I sealed all of my plugs while I was there, as well as POR-15 on all the bad rust spots. I think I am getting water in from my access cab window seals still though. I have to use a hose to test it and confirm.

I basically went nuts with seam sealer.

The only holes I didn't seal was the access holes to the body mount bolts.

The downside is it's ugly as fuck. It's just better to stay away from stupid water unless necessary.
