We thought of getting a larger house but in the end we opted for a smaller house, eventually it will just be the two of us and my wife said she'd rather have a smaller house thats easier to clean than a huge house that we couldnt take care of. I agreed with her. Even at that we have 3 bedrooms 2 baths kitchen, living room and dining area.

Not done yet but spent lot of the day working on the dogs kennel. Siding is like 80% done. Roof is all shingled and good to go. Just need to make the door and finish the siding and the outside will be done. Then onto the inside to build a "dog house" .

I've got a shed like that. It has a staircase and attic. Thought about a metal roof to replace shingles but don't know how to do it safely. Can't afford to call THE GUY.

Luckily I work for a scaffold company and 'borrowed' some for this project.

Thanks....it was more like doing automotive bodywork than cabinets...I was a little out of my comfort zone...by the time I hit the rough cut oak shelves ..I was fine again:)

I still don't think a scaffold would help.

I don't know the height or layout of your property but I could not have done the roof without scaffold.

Maybe be it's just me, but I notice details... make the handle hardware match the hinge hardware. I see mismatches all the time everywhere!

Oh it will! Drives me nuts as well. Going to do the bronze hardware throughout to compliment the flooring. I hate gold / brass hardware almost as much as I hate ivory plugs, switches, and cover plates

Thank you!! I did the walk-through on my dads final inspection (elderly, undergoing cancer chemo blah blah blah) found SO many little things like hinges not matching hardware... even found different screws used in one closet door hinge. That shit drives me bananas!
