    I never saw the point is spending a shitload on a lift kit until I did. I know the difference now and won't buy cheap shit anymore. Looking at something better than I have now even when I replace these.

    Same family set up for me.
    I was sort of rushed into buying that one, but I have no ragrets!! I can fit a full packer brisket, 3-4 racks of baby backs, and two butts easily.

    You don't want to do that if you plan to tow anything. You would want the frame to flex a little bit so you don't tear up the frame. Look at how those big rigs flex when they take off at a stop light. It's a reason why they flex that much. All that torque twisting will destroy the frame if it was boxed completely. Also explains why the 4Runner is limited to towing compared to a Tacoma.

    I have a CharGriller too!!!! Love it!

    Don't have the side box, though. I have a small smoke box I just put inside, does well enough for me. Usually start it direct on hot coals when chips are soaked, about 30 minutes or so later I move it to a grate above the fire and the smoke rolls!

    That's how my old one was, no side box. It was made out of light gauge metal & didn't last but it did good. This one it thick & heavy, hopefully it will last.

    It was 70 something today. I cut mine at 1:30 this afternoon. Didn't even break a sweat.

    Then I washed my bulldog and got soaked. Took 3 soaping to get the fucker white as hell again and no smell. I think he goes out and gets extra smelly when I tell him he's getting a bath. Plus I had to wash the green grass he rolled in off of him.

    This one is pretty heavy. I'll say I'm impressed with it!
    I also bought the cover for it and it stays on when not used. However, i may get the smoke box, but hard to justify $80 for the firebox when I got the grill on sale for $110 lol

    My guess it with the opening up high the heat escapes faster than it the opening was low in the drum. It would have to circulate around more. :notsure:
    Makes perfect sense in my head. Haha
