I'm writing this with boomer of a headache going on so if I sound a little ill forgive me. First off I have a 17 TRD SPORT in perfect condition. No scratches dings anything. It's my only ride so I must use it for everything. I had to go to Lowes and get a sheet of plywood the other day and took my employee with me. Before we left I got some old blankets and put them in the bed of the truck and we where on our way. Well we got the plywood and we where loading it I started wraping it in the blankets so it would not scratch the bed (I do have a bed mat too)and my employee laughed and he said it's just a truck. Boy that pee'ed me off but I said nothing just told him what I wanted to do. Now what you do with your stuff is none of my business but I try to take care of my stuff. This might be my last truck so I want to keep it looking good for as long as I can. Most of you are smarter than me so explain to me why in the H€// do people think if its a pickup it's ok to tear it all to H€// !!!!. Would you close the door on your Ferrari by kicking it with your foot? I know some of you are hard core offroaders and you get great joy out of it which is good a few scratches and dings are normal but why as a whole does people think just because it's a truck it's ok to tear it up? Ok I will take some more Advil now lol.
    Best wishes to you all

Around Iowa, it doesn't matter how much you try to keep your truck looking nice, it's gonna rust out.

Years of keeping a beauty queen in the garage all undone by road salt, might as well use it. Sometimes a beater truck is better than a new truck, then you don't have to worry about keeping it new.

People don't kick their Ferrari door closed because you can use your hand like a normal human. People also put things into their truck beds without bubble wrapping it first, which is why you got made fun of.

I've included a link you may find useful. https://iocdf.org/about-ocd/

Some people respect their things some do not, Some see trucks as tools and some do not. And as such need to be "used" I had this phobia about some of my things, mostly camera equipment. I would miss a shot because I was being careful with my stuff. Now I don't care about my equipment as much as I know it's mostly replaceable but the "shot" or "job" is not. Now this doesn't mean its cool to be careless, cause it's not. A well cared for "tool" will last much longer than one that is not taken care of.

    But that being said

It is just a truck, and more importantly, it's only the truck bed

Depends on what you'll use ur truck for. Some people just to carry groceries, or the rare trip to Home Depot. Some people got tired of shoveling their small cars out of snow. Some people off-road them, use them to get to better hunting/fishing spots. And some people use them for work.

If you off-road or use it for work like construction or hauling. It's gonna get dings and scratches. It's a truck. My 2 cents

I agree with you, just maybe not to the same anger level lol. I treat all my stuff nice. It lasts longer. I offroad my Xterra and it's got a few dings but I don't go out trying to get it messed all up like some seem to do.

    Truck stuff
When it comes to the bed of my truck, its a truck. The bed is going to get scratches and what not if you haul stuff. I do take it off road so some light pin striping from trails is expected but I try my best to keep the painted part of the truck as nice as possible. Dents are a thing I want to avoid at all cost. In the need if the body looks nice and the bed is beat up I feel I'm using my truck as a truck and not a grocery getter.

Get a tonneau cover so you dont see the bed everyday. Out of sight, out of mind.

A few scratches or a small dent are like scars, they tell a story.

A bunch on a truck just shows carelessness; same for the scars.
