hey I just installed an hid kit on my truck and I've noticed that the low beam seems to be just as high as the high beam, does anyone know why this might be? And also just making sure, does the stock headlight only have one bulb for the high beam and low beam?

Not the only fix. You can put in pumped up halogens. More for, this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/

The link for those projectors you attached I don't know about. They are also rather inexpensive. There are several guys on here who can build them. I built my own for my two trucks.

The reference link above with the headlight cut off is really bad. I know they put on a guard to help, but that isn't the only factor in the glare.

There is so much glare and ghosting that this is still crappy for other drivers, not to mention not a solid beam on top or bottom.

It should look like this. A solid clean cut off with zero glare.

Understandable. I didn't mean to poop on your parade. It does improve it in the right direction and would reduce the glare a lot. I have done the straight HID, Ultimate Halogen Upgrade and finally full retrofits, and I can say the last two are really make the difference.

Well given that I already spent the money on the hid kit I probably won't do the halogen upgrade, but how would you make your own retrofit projectors?

Nice! I would make a big suggestion on doing it. Either get another set of headlights or if your current ones are good, buy a beat up pair to put in your truck in the meantime. Things take time to dry especially if you do the BHLM. Don't rush it at all. Take your time and do the proper prep. Rushing to get your headlights back in your truck is where mistakes are made.

    What year is your truck?

2007. I jerry rigged that glare shield and although it's not dark outside yet it seems to have made a huge difference. So I think I'll just use that as a temporary fix till I get projector headlightsIMG_1296.jpg
