Glad I wasn't the only one. I reread that like 3x before I cut my losses and moved on.

I think I'll wait until multimatic that makes the suspension for the new ZR2 enters the after market with a Tacoma design. Their suspension revolutionizes the 4x4 world.

Elite pricing if I do say so myself. Can't wait to see how these stack up against others in its class (i.e. Kings, Icons, Fox, OME, ADS, etc.)

I come from more of a dual sport motorcycle & sports car road racing background, with a lot of shock and suspension focus. This price point and up (to well over 10k) on a sports car would be for either very serious track junkies or all-out race cars. "Expensive" on a bike is more like double/triple adjustable Ohlins and those are 2k-3k F/R. So $3500 while not chump change is not unreasonable for high-end well made enthusiast suspension for a truck. The question is does the intended application require this much tech and cost? Like bikes and sports cars, usually the answer is no but don't ever try to tell a guy not to spend $$$ on his vehicle(s).

The issue with price is not the necessarily the fact that it is so much. It's because you can buy a set of king reservior shocks with adjuster in 2.5" for the same price. Why in the world would you spend so much on the billies when you can get Kings?

Oh I agree completely, but it remains to be seen how good these are in comparison and what the true street price ends up being. Bilstein has tried to sell mid/high-priced coilovers in the sports car world and not been real successful compared to others at better price point. Maybe they thought they had a shot here, or at least felt the need for a halo product in this niche, given popularity of 6112/5160/5100 etc.

Good point. Perhaps this was Bilstein's next logical step given their R&D capabilities, brand recognition and seemingly increased sales.

Yep. Even if they did not sell one set they'd still want to have that product out there appearing to compete with King etc., saying (they hope), nobody is light years beyond us in tech. I'm guessing that is not a main reason, but to be able to say we have products at same high level of tech is probably thought to be important for brand image among the marketing weasels.

Had these on my truck for a day a few months ago (Bilstein was doing some testing). Unfortunately I didn't get to drive the truck with them on but they sure as hell look great. I'd love to hear feedback on how they compare to Kings.

Yes, they took great care of me. As a thank you, they installed 6112s and 5160s before giving it back
