If you don't care about good mpgs then why does it matter what gear the truck is in?

If you don't care about good mpgs then why does it matter what gear the truck is in? Oh and if your had a 4runner that did this, why would you think the taco wouldn't, considering the regulations continue to increase.

LMFAO-Class action Lawsuit, dude get to fuck over your self....Take the truck to the dealer and whine to them. Its not the right vehicle for you.

Oh, and there are not even 500 thousand of 3rd gens out there, how to hell are there millions of upset people over the taco? Yes there are millions of people who are upset, but probably with real issues, not the my truck shifts to get going.

Have fun guys, hope you figure out how to get the right tool, or use this one better.

    I'm OUT!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a pathetic attempt at a mic drop post.

You could have done much better. For shame.

Why wouldn't you want a motor thats screaming at 3100rpm when it can hum at 2400RPM?

What I want and what it will do are sometimes 2 different things. And really 700 rpms making that much of a difference? Maybe to some, but to most, I don't think so.

Sounds to me like you're blowing this shit way out of proportion. You test drove the truck before you bought it didn't you? Obviously there's not enough time in the real world to get an ironclad feeling of how a vehicle operates on a test drive alone, but damn dude, if you are feeling this hateful towards the truck, then just sell the mofo and move on.

Like many before me have said, either drive it in "ECO mode", and put up with the sometimes quirky shifting, or just put it in ECT mode and it flys. For me ECT is often too peppy for city driving, so I alternate between the two. I mainly only use ECT when I'm driving in high winds, to cut down on the shifting, or just using it when I'm pissed and want to drive like a bat out of hell.

Go buy your RAM and console yourself when the transmission completely fails at 100k, tell yourself that the Toyota was worse. As for me, I refuse to buy any of the pieces of shit the domestic dealers pedal these days. Even if that means I have to put up with a few MINOR quirks from the Japanese manufacturers. The F150 is the only thing I would even entertain the idea of owning, but still not convinced it's not a POS.

Having to listen to the thing from Wichita to Baltimore makes a hell of a lot of difference.

Again, "what I want and what it will do are sometimes 2 different things." This is quite unfortunate... a 2nd gen COULD do it. So it's not like these guys bought the wrong tool deliberately... Toyota changed the specs on them.

Keeping with the tool theme, I bought a DeWalt drill for woodworking. I use it all the time to drill holes in various types of wood. Now if I go back to the same store and buy a new version of the same drill, get home, and realize that this drill will not drill through hardwood but only softwood, I will not be happy.

Further more, if the salesman said "give it time, it will learn how you drill," and I listened because I didn't know any better, I will be downright mad.

THEN if I get on some DeWalt forum and am painted as foolish for believing a tool this tool should work the a certain way, well...

There are plenty of guys on here that understand this dilemma all too well.

well, guess it sucks to be them. we can go back and forth till pigs fly and neither you or I will agree. So this truck doesn't do what some want it to do, then they either need to learn to use it for what it can do, or they need to find another truck.

    Now to unsubscribe again.

The sad thing is about this ENTIRE thread is this: a gentleman bought a product he wasn't satisfied with then came here to voice his frustration. A few of us understand his issue. SEVERAL of us jumped down his throat and others because of people on here that take a comment from a stranger on the internet as a personal attack on their vehicle and their manhood.

Maybe the problem isn't the OP or his truck.

Maybe the problem is we're all just being jerks about something stupid that has no effect on our lives.

If you guys are really so underwhelmed, why don't you just ditch it? The resale on same year Tacomas is basically what you paid.

If it sucks, dump it. WTF is up with all this nonsense?

YEP just one big cold asshole. Now that we got that figured out, how bout you look in the mirror?

This is fucking senseless dude, again how bout we stop this back and forth shit?

I have stated a few times, it must suck that the truck doesn't work as you would like, either go whine to the dealer, shut to fuck up and learn to use it like it is, or get rid of the piece of shit.

That being said, I like my 3rd gen Manual trans.
