Thanks for the welcome. It is hard to find good first gen here, most are rusted. Mine is rust free with original paint except roof was painted before. My frame has no rust anywhere that I can find, but it had been under coated every year since new. It needed a few little things when I bought it but I have most done now. Still need to install a trailer hitch to haul my camper and replace my a/c compressor. Going to order rancho quicklift struts next week. I can order through work (NAPA) at a little more than cost but have no listings for 5100.

So what did you think of the Quick lift? Just put mine on and was shocked how much lift I got! Definitely leveled plus some for settle. Left my sway bar disconnected after install and couldn't even tell! Has to be a more solid spring than the ones with 380,000 miles I took off!

Ok I hear you there we used to live in Wisconsin with 6 months plus of winter. Very spoiled with vehicles in California. That's amazing your truck is so rust free! Do they use road salt in Canada?

They use too much salt on our roads here. We can get a long time out of our trucks here as long as they are under coated with quality under coating. If we put it on from new before rust starts and keep putting it on yearly we can keep ahead of rust for a long time, but most wait until rust starts before under coating and once it starts it is hard to stop. My under coating is about a 1/4" thick by now, messy but works for me. It would be nice in California to have rust free trucks.

Installed quick lifts today. Lifted 1 3/4" after a few miles to settle. They ride great. Way better than my 16 year old 220000 mile factory ones. Have them set on 4, seems about right. One was too soft and 9 way too rough. Going to install matching rear shock on weekend. Aliment and new tires next Tuesday.

 Very nice. Maybe it seemed like I got more lift since my shocks had 160,000 more miles on them than yours :D

I was an inch lower than back before I put them on. Now I'm 1 3/4" higher than the back but those are original leafs too!

Did your original springs look about like this? My old ones seemed very compressed. I left my front sway bar disconnected and I could hardly tell a difference in handling with the new quick lift so must be a pretty heavy spring that comes with those but I couldn't find a spec.

Yeah mine looked about the same. Started getting bouncy on certain bumps. I am 1/2" higher in front now than back but am going to lift back with 1" blocks and new Rancho 9000 shocks this weekend. I know most on here do not like blocks but I think small 1" blocks will be fine, if not I will get new leaf springs later this summer. Some new trucks have blocks from the factory. I know a few people with a lot bigger blocks than that and they are way harder on there woods trucks than I will ever be on my daily driver and they do not seem to have any problems.

Welcome to the forum. I just changed out my struts on my '03 Taco... it was getting squirrely on the highway when I hit bumps it would bounce hard. Just went with OEM since I'm mainly 4 wheel on the beach.
