All kinds of folks have, myself included. I saw a tiny bit of difference, the kind of thing one forgets about in a couple days.

Now, "1/4"+ of sag"? There is only about 1/4" that the OE mounts can sag before they bottom out.
The pic below is an OE mount at around 200K (no weight on it in the pic). Note the distance between the two flanges.
Check the appearance of yours and also look for any deformation of the cab floor/cab back seam or deformation where the mount bolts to the cab.

OEM LBJ's are the one thing that really need to be used, you can look on YouTube for reviews and failure of the Moog LBJ, life time warranty means nothing when the LBJ fails and you destroy your truck or lose your life, I replace my LBJ's every 100,000 to be safe with OEM. Why would anyone use anything else to save 50.00?

The rest of the parts that will break if those break aren't under the "lifetime warranty"

Besides. Your OEM joint didn't fail anyways. The bolts did. thats just another design flaw of our LBJs. Moogs aren't going to improve that. Locktite and proper torque will.

    Just get OEM LBJs.

It's not me that needs convincing...

Hopefully we're gonna do both LBJ while it's in the shop anyway.

Hermano, I didn't notice your dilemma until too late I think. I wish you could bring your taco to me and we could get you wrapped up with the right parts and done the right way. Offer is always there.
With as much off road driving as you do, this scenario in particular calls for the OEM joints. It's the unexpected, seemingly out of nowhere failures and the other things losing a ball joint takes out. The job in and of itself isn't bad. Needs to be done right and with right parts. That's critical to your taco's durability and reliability.

How do you have all of these crazy random Tacoma pics? Where you the guy that wrote up the Tacoma FSM and instructed the techs on repair and maintenance when Toyota released the Tacoma? :D

They (Moog/555) are in fact more prone to the bolt loosening. OE or 555 do not "just fail" out of the blue with no warning. The warning is there, one just needs to know what to look for. The failure of the better brands is due to 3 situations, ignorance, negligence and stupidity in that order.
1, Ignorance is the semi forgivable lack of experience with the design and issues associated with checking and and installation.
    2, Negligence is ignoring #1.
    3, Stupidity is continued 1's and 2's.
Not changing out both would be a poor decision.

It stems from a borderline unhealthy mental/social condition.
FSM? ha, has too many errors to come out of the pool.

Is swapping out cv axles actually as easy as everyone claims? I've got manual hubs, and both axles have at least one boot that's spilling grease everywhere. Should I replace? I got a quote for 110 each after core refund for rebuilt oem, is it worth the extra cost vs autozone/napa? Looking at CVJReman in Denver.

I've watched a few videos, one that looked like the process was really tedious. I'm no mechanic, but I changed an axle shaft in a solid axle jeep last winter, and enjoy learning how to do things myself. Is this a good job I should try on my own?

it's an easy swap with ADD hubs. With manual hubs. You have a lot more bolts to remove haha But it is totally doable. I think you'll be fine. Go for it! CVJs are a great choice.

"Lifetime warranty" means nothing, it is just a "marketing play" just to suck in customers. I'd rather buy stuff with no warranty that never breaks. It's like a having a "lifetime warranty" bolt holding a bridge - if it fails the manufacturer will replace the sheared bolt for free, the fallen bridge is your problem.

I just noticed that one of my front wheel bearings is going bad. I'm going to remove the spindle and take them to a shop to have them pressed out. My question is which should I order, RockAuto or OEM? What are you'll running? Thanks.
