Sorry if this info is here already, but I've looked and I'm having trouble finding info on the actual suspension travel of a 17 TRD OR(currently own) and a TRD Pro vs Icon/Fox/King upgrades. I'd like to level/lift my truck, maybe go 1 size bigger on tires, nothing crazy, its a daily driver. I found someone on CL selling TRD Pro take off shocks, leafs and UCA's. Can anyone provide info on the amount travel, lift and adjustment of the TRD Pro stuff vs aftermarket companies? I'm not looking into remote reservoir components or LT, if that helps. I've read that TRD Pro raises 1 inch, however, they are 2.5 coilovers similar to King, Icon or Fox upgrades which offer roughly 2.5 inches of lift, is the TRD fox limited in adjustments compared to the rest. How about the quality of the Pro UCA's? Cost is 3 to 1 if not more for the takeoffs. Thx for the help/replies.

Zero lift out of the box.
    Can't speak to travel.

    No lift.
    Not adjustable.
    Overpriced.

Get something else, especially if you want to level.

Hold on guys... depends on the price... If I could get pro shocks ... don't need the rest of the stuff, for say under $1k .... all I'd need are some springs to lift and level... wait.... forgettaboutit.... I could get a better NEW suspension for less $, only reason to get the Pro takeoffs is for Bro Pro.. just sayin....

OK, thx for the replies. They're on CL for 1K. Front coilovers, rears, UCA's and leaf pack. BB14, what can you get for 1K or less thats better? Just curious as I'm new to the Taco cult

$1k is your starting point, now to lift you needs springs all around... so you just added say $600 to the $1k and will it work?? .... that's getting into a different league of suspensions. Might as well get something NOT used and upgraded from the Pro should cost maybe ~$2k. Folks that buy a Pro and get new suspensions... does not compute..

I think the only thing in the deal you don't already have or need are the shocks...

So youre saying the UCA's and leafs on the Pro take offs are the same as what my TRD came with? I get that the front coilovers are NOT adjustable, but the fox rear piggy back shocks are decent or no? To purchase and internal res adjustable coilover, UCA leaf pack and new piggybacks is at least 3K, but I know all that is 2x better. I'm confused because I had a Raptor, it had fox adjustable 2.5's and piggyback rears and that was easily double the truck my taco is or even a TRD Pro is.

Comparing a full size to light truck.... not a good comparison IMHO.

Yes I "think" all those extra parts I already have ... not the shocks and I have upgraded my springs all around to lift as you will also have to do. Go 2-3" of lift and VERY likey you won't need UCA's.

Piggy backs are AAL's?? You will need them to lift or get a new set of rear leafs... going to cost you around $2K maybe a lil more depending... those Fox shocks on the Pro are good for what they are I guess but you're limiting the potential with that choice.

May as well get the Fox adjustable shocks with springs x4.... yeah more $$ but like you said 2x better or more. Yeah if you could afford a Raptor why not go a lil bit better and get a proper setup AND lifted.

RB14, thx for the reply. Apologies if I offended with the "I think" I was simply asking 1) is there a difference between the UCA's on a TRD vs the Pro and 2) I was not aware of what you currently have or have upgraded to. The info I've seen is that to lift 2-3 in up front, the stock TRD UCA's will not clear and need upgraded. As far as comparing the Raptor full size world vs Mid size, I'm aware they are vastly different. What I find interesting is that the Raptors 2011-2014 had Fox 2.5 coilovers that had 3 perch level adjustments and the new 2017 Raptors have 3.0 non adjustable coilovers. There were many people with Raptors upgrading to 3.0 shocks and upper/lower CA's if they were being used in the dirt and not street quuens, right out the gate. Trying to understand where I fit in the Taco world, that's all.

Spend a little more coin and you can get Icon Stage 1 kit. Probably what you're looking for. No remote ressies and threaded shock body so you can adjust them without taking them off.

I think you'll find that none of the kits you've mentioned will give you any more travel. Some sacrifice down travel, so be very careful if you want something decent offroad. Pro is 4 shocks / front coils & front sway bar changes over OR suspension wise (wheel offset if you want to include that), so leaf & uca is pointless to buy.
I've read a few articles that mentioned rear leaf change, but nothing from Toyota to confirm that and parts fiche doesn't seem to be available yet. It certainly doesn't look like there are any leaf changes.

No love for my old '10 Raptor? :pout:

I've got pro suspension, definitely can't adjust the perch level like the Raptor had and it definitely could've used that height adjustable feature for sure. From many accounts, it's basically the same height as the other trims, although 1" is advertised.
You're not gonna get specs on travel; many people have tried to get that answer.

I will say: Aside from it's limitations on adjustability, it's similar to the Raptor in the sense that it's very good both on and off road.
I'd really only get the Pro suspension in your case if you find a smoking deal.
