    hey all,

Gonna throw out my disclaimer first and say I know what I'm getting myself into by putting a suspension lift on my 16' TRD OR, with cutting crossmembers, a RC lift etc... I've read the forum. My only question/possible concern is the strut spacer for the front stock coilover. I know it will probably make for a hella rough ride but I've called RC, toytec and waiting to call headstrong about possibly being able to find a coilover to purchase that's long enough that will work with the 6" RC lift. RC said check with fox and toytec is checking on a icon set up from an 05-up for compatibility for me. I just didn't know if anyone had ran into this type of thing with the RC lifts and could give me some insight. I hope not to be bashed, come on Bro! Lol

OP has somewhat of a sense of humor. I'm thinking yer going to need some more.

Now what size tires do you want to fit with a 6" lift?

The RC 6" says 33's are the max so that's what I went with.

You will have the exact same ride as stock, better than anyone that preloads the shit out of their 5100's. Spacers do not affect ride.

RC is not the best left, I have it, but I heavily modified it because all I really wanted was the drop brackets and lift knuckles. If I was going to purly just install it, I would of gone with ProComp or BDS.

RC is the only kit where you do not have to cut all the way through the crossmember, but it does require fab work.

My truck rides very nice and handle pretty damn well, and is still lower than an F150, even on 35's.

Thank you for your help- and I love your "brocoma" I just didn't know if I went with an aftermarket -fox, king, icon coilover and ditched spacer if I'd get a better ride is all. Kind of off subject but you did the 4" lift correct? And your running 35's?

Thank you, I'm having a hard time finding the right coilovers right now, The FOX RCD's had the perfect specs, but they were discontinued, and most of the websites don't give the collapsed and extended lengths. I'm at about 4.5"s of lift right now on 35's. The RC kit is the exact same for 4" and 6" only thing that changes is the spacers and rear blocks. A 6" lift on an RC Kit will have a much steeper CV angle as compared to a 6" ProComp or BDS. Because of that, the RC kit has much better ground clearance.

If you go 6", BDS has a 6" FOX coilover that should work.

    You ain't bro'n if you ain't coil over'n

My roommate just put that lift in. We had to use a different strut space because he put Icon coil overs in. The Icon was 1" longer to start with so it was a bit of work to make it fit right.

Just use the longer bilstein shocks which are used on the rcd kit. This way you will have a full length shock and can eliminate the tall spacer.

Yeah they were my old coils.

    58630 (QTY.1) | 2005-UP Toyota Tacoma 2.5" IFP Coilover Shock Kit

He put on a 2.25" spacer and maxed out the coil overs. Filled out right IMO. He also got my old Tom Woods front and rear. The way it angles the front diff works out well for a double cardon driveshaft.

Oh also my buddy just reminded me that the coil overs are bigger so we had to cut off the end of the bolt for the sway bar links to get them to fit with it. However after that it fit perfect.

Will I have to change out the coil spring?

Take it in somewhere they have a real compressor. Don't use the ones from Harbor Freight. We tried those and it didn't work out so well. The TRD OR springs are beefy. Its worth the $40 to just let them do it on the machine.

I've swapped springs and shocks 3 times, and I used this method, works like a charm.
