One thing I learned last night about dealer transfers. I'm in Houston, I found the truck I want in Dallas. Sent the VIN over to my local sales person. They said they could get it. Looking at the sheet on the truck, it has the garbage lot add ons like protection package. In all it's $1,700 in lot add ons. I have the option to have it driven down here for a few hundred bucks, towed would be much more. But the big kicker is that when a vehicle is transfer from another dealers lot, you pay that full price for the lot upgrades. If it was an in stock vehicle here, that price can be negotiated. I would drive up to Dallas to try and get it, but I've got a trade in and I know they would bend me over if they knew how far I was driving. Transfer OTD price would be $42K for a 4X4 sport, DBSB, tech package, tube steps, quicksand, tow pkg, mud guards. I negotiated a deal on the same model (but grey) a few weeks ago for $40K OTD, but it had pinstripes and I had to walk away.

Best I can do here in South Texas:

    MSRP 40096
    Sale Price 38000
    OTD 40375

    Sales tax at 6.25%

It looks horrible compared to what others are posting but I have been to three dealers now and I cannot come up with anything better.

if I didn't have car trouble and really needed a new car asap i would have bought from a dealer in norcal. even shipping it for $400 to deliver in so cal would have been worth it.

at least i never set foot at the dealer and the truck was delivered to my house where I signed all the papers.

you did just fine for being in So Cal besides them making money on the alarm but still invoice is good.

a month ago there were very few white DCSB and plenty of LB so unless a truckload came in recently you got a rare-ish package.

    Btw I wanted white

I believe Longo will deliver your truck if within 100 miles. I bought mine from Hollywood Toyota and the salesperson volunteered to do that so I was like "sure!" I never set foot on that dealership's property and didn't have to wait hours for paperwork.

Rob, good to know, thanks for the heads up! I'll be looking to get mine in June. I saw your comment above about the long bed/short bed stock for super white, I feel like I'm seeing the opposite in my searches right now online (I'm looking for DCLB OR in Super White). Do you think it could be shifting now from demand? Cheers.

It could be because people were wanting white and LB was the only one in stock. My quicksand just came off a shipment so obviously the factory had shipped their batch.

If you're thinking June you may even just order one the way you like so you can avoid any add-ons you may not want.

Also Nor Cal dealers give better discounts if you don't mind either taking a road trip or paying $400 ish to ship south.

DBSB Super White was nowhere to be found. Ones that were found had the orange interior, which is fucking ugly. No offense.

I've been thinking about this, I am originally from Northern California (Chico) and my parents still live up there, so I was thinking taking a weekend trip up to visit and buy a truck.

As far as ordering one, I would probably have to pay sticker price on my order, correct?

Actually no. I have a DCSB OR 4X4 on order with only tow package and floor mat/door sill protectors and am getting $500 over invoice.

Good to know, I'll keep this in the back of my mind when I go in and start talking to different dealerships.

Just bought mine a little over a week ago.

2017 TRD OR 4X4 DCSB, Super White, Tech Pkg, Towing and Tonneau - $38.5k before tax and license. Sold to me for even $38k.

Attached is a snippet of the invoice and charge breakdown (w/ dealer costs and MSRP). I worked directly with the fleet manager at local Toyota dealer. Sold at dealer cost - no sales rep involved so no commission, no MSRP. Fleet manager only cares their trucks get sold. They maintain a huge inventory of tacos.

I have received a price of $35500 for a 2017 TRD Sport 2WD with P&T package with JBL audio. MSRP was $38220. I am in talks with another dealer that has the exact same truck but with 4WD where MSRP is $41285 and seeing if they will match the $35500. I seriously doubt they will but doesn't hurt to ask.

Hi kdttocs, how did you find that fleet manager? I am near San Diego. Can you PM me the contact info, please? Enjoy the new truck!
