what is the suspension loop and cheeseburger loop??? another idea I had is we could all meet at a gas station near chris' house and go to marble falls to eat at the famous bluebonnet cafe then maybe on the way back stop for some wheeling at hf, but I'd have to ride w someone else once we get there.

Yep, we actually have a few of those routes laid out in the GPS. Find lots of dirt roads, some mud and nice drives. We've found so much mud a time or two that it takes a long time to clean the truck up lol.

These are maps some groups have put together. Since texas has little public land near Austin, these are dirt roads, unmaintained roads, and many creek/river crossing. I got the maps from texas Overland on FB. Its not wheeling fully, but its also not driving on paved roads. Maybe its a happy area for @ChadsPride?

Its a 5-6 hour loop

Regency Suspension Loop is similar, have numerous water crossings, and goes over one of the oldest suspension bridges in texas. There is much more info on the Texas Overland FB group: Ive attached the 2 GPS tracks I have for these... it can be opened up in Maps.me or Google Earth. I had to zip one of them since the forum wouldnt let me upload otherwise.

the good thing about mud is a 2wd can make it through most holes so long as you have momentum and throttle. lots of throttle.

when coming back to town, I take a road that's about 30mins of dirt south of Castell. Lots of a dirt side-side roads, but I've only taken a few. saw a group of about 6 motos on it this weekend.

 

I havent done either, but watching videos of other groups on Cheeseburger loop, it looks very flat and mostly just dirt roads. Ill look for videos on regency suspension
