Lifted my truck using Fox extended coilovers and a Headstrong progressive 3leaf AAL.
Left the overload leaf in so i got a full lift of 2" in the rear.
I cranked up my coilovers 1 more inch up front and got 2" of lift at 23" hub to fender. 23" is max lift per Toytechs advice. I dont want to add any more load on the springs up front. The ride is great.
There is some rake that id like to get rid of...the front is 1" lower than the front.
My question is can i add a 1/2" spacer up front above the coilover to get me 1" higher to match the rear. This seems to be the easiest solution versus purchasing 1" longer springs for the coilovers. Toytech says anything more than 23" up front isnt good. But they didnt mention adding a spacer above a coilover. I figure cranking up the coilovers to 24" would max out my suspension giving me a crappy ride. But adding the spacer doesnt extend the shock at all, it just raises the truck....Am I correct on that?
I do have Total Chaos uca's so id be fine to go a bit higher and still keep everything aligned.
    What say you?

these are the spacers i want to add

I would definitely not add a spacer to your quality coilovers. If you want that extra inch up front, then get the longer coils. Besides, a little rake is good. That way you won't have bro lean when there's any weight in the bed.

I had the same thought. I have 6112's in the front and wondered if it was possible to add a spacer ontop of the coil over to lift it just a bit more.

Interested in what everyone has to say.

I wouldnt see any problem with running a 1/4" spacer, but I would stay away from the 1/2"

That might make the difference trying to fit 285's. I don't want to CMC but I will if I have to.

Yea, that's why I went w/ the OME springs to get that extra length and I'm running 1/4" spacers on each side to compensate for my winch bumper / winch

You could, but you'll need longer studs than what you have now. I'd go with the 1/4" spacer. The 1/2" difference isn't noticeable and you maintain some rake for hauling

All the spacers would do is change your static ride height. As soon as you start driving and hit bumps, etc. then you'd rub the cab mount. It's worth it to do a CMC and not have to worry about rubbing at all.

You're right. Damn TW has increased my knowledge on trucks more than I could have thought when I first joined. Thanks

I read somewhere about a simple way to take out the strut assembly/coilover or just drop it enough to get the spacer in...
    Any tips?
Someone here posted about being able to pop a spacer in both sides in like an hour.

I can't speak on a 1/4 inch spacer but I would think it's the same as the 1/2, you still have to change out the studs. Not sure if that was considered in the 1 hour swap time.

I did this to my 2010 tundra used billstein adjustables and a level kit to get 3.5 inches out of it. Everything worked fine. It was done at lesschwab if there was a problem with using the 2 they would have not allowed for the install. I've asked them to do some other things for me in the past and they have flat out said no would not be good for the truck. They also called revtech to make sure it was ok with the level kit. All rev tech said is to not adjust the billsteins to max or it could cause need to add other things to the truck like extended break lines and such. I did not extend the bill steins to the max 2.5 inch left some room on them had 2 inch level and the billsteins. The other part to this is I did not use my tundra off-road that may have possibly caused the need for things like extended break lines and such. If you plan on off-roading I'd just go icon stage 3 or 4 IMG_0197.PNG.jpg

You don't put the spacer in the assembly...it goes on top of it. Do not take apart the assembly or you'll have a nightmare of a time. Only a spring compressor should be assembling/disassembling it

If you guys are rubbing at full stuff, and don't want to rub anymore, the obvious thing to do is start cutting for clearance if you want to keep your travel, or space your bumpstops to limit the travel. Cranking away on the coils only add ride height, and won't limit anything unless you cranked so much that you have coil slap.
And another thing I always wonder, how many guys put a strut spacer on stock shocks to get lift, also add a bump stop spacer to avoid shock damage?

    :edit:
This response was actually intended for the other stupid thread about stacking lifts, but I'll leave it here since it's still relevant...

    Just a few
Do it the right way and get longer springs put on your coilovers.
