Anyone know if a 17x9 wheel with -12 offset 4.5 inch back spacing will work on 08 standard cab no lift. 265/70/17 tires.
I've got them ordered and now I'm freaking out.

If your tires are LT rated they will only fit up to an 8.5" wheel width. If they are P rated then 9" wide is just fine. a 9" wide wheel with -12mm offset will stick out from the fender, you may have some trimming to do to avoid rubbing but the wheels themselves should fit just fine. You have a 6 lug model Tacoma not a 5 lug correct?

    6lug.
I'm not too sharp on this tire sizing at all.
I'm going with a cooper stt pro mud tire

6 lug, that wheel will bolt on, but it'll stick out.

This is from cooper's site for that tire

7-8.5 is the "approved rim width" section. That means that tire will seat anywhere from a 17"x7" to 17"x8.5", your 9" wide wheels are wider than recommended for that tire.

17" x 9" -12mm offset, tires are 285/70-17, so disregard the size of the tires, but this is how the wheels will fit/look

Ok thanks. Should be safe then?
Planning on getting lift in near future.
It'll only be stock height for a week or so.

The tire size you're looking at will not fit the wheels you ordered.

Gotta change my order then I guess. Lol
What range backspacing should I be looking for then?
Also wheel size for that tire.
Id like to be flush with fenders ideally.

17"x8" with 0mm and 4.5" back spacing fits great
17" x 8.5" with either 0mm offset and 4.75" BS or -6mm offset and 4.5" BS also fits very well.
Either of those two sizes will allow for the tire size you want and fit about flush with the fenders.

They will technically go on the wheels. They may look stretched and will decrease the protection offered from the sidewall to the lip of the rim. Technically any warranty on the tire would be voided. The size and offset of the wheel are fine.
