LOL it gave me a lot of ideas of what I gotta take out and remove. I was iffy on the KDSS in reference to sliders and suspension. Mainly figuring out how to equalize the KDSS to get the suspension stuff in

So my wife made me buy an ARB awning and room tent that my friend @kh7nm was selling. Gobi sells brackets to attach the ARB awning to the Gobi stealth rack, but I'm not a fan, and they are $120... so I decided to design and CNC machine my own!

The bracket is candy cane shaped so it should be an easy one man job to hang the awning onto the roof rack.

The majority of all the parts cut in one setup. Still gotta do the B sides and drill and tap some holes.

The hooks make it easy to hang.





I'm gonna make a 1/2" spacer to go between the awning and the bracket to move it out and up 1/2" so that the zipper isn't so close to the body.

Nice work! I am not a fan of my Front Runner brackets since it makes mounting and dismounting the Foxwing very difficult. Damn Foxwing is heavy and cumbersome for me to mount by myself.

 

So I made a pair of offset blocks today.

As you can see from this pic, there is no way I would be able to mount the ARB awning much higher because I would not be about to counterbore the hole to recess the screws. I knew this when I made the bracket, but I still wanted to see if it would be high enough, and the rear of the awning just barely touched the body of the truck. This block will move the awing up and out by 1/2".





Now it's got pretty good clearance, but still tucked nice and close to the truck.

 

Had to swing by sandy beach and play in the sand a little today

 

The 4Runner is finally on the big island. And the first thing I did (after washing off all the salt from the boat ride) is add some LED reverse lights in the taillights, and made a bracket for a cheapy LED light from Amazon that attaches to the trailer plug bracket.

Only like $15 but surprisingly bright and well made. I might buy some more for the taco.

Now I can see the ground in the back up camera when I'm reversing.

 

Those look way better than the led strips..

I have a rigid 20" and 2 DOT dually fogs that's been sitting in a box for over a year.

Front end is apart. Gotta drill and tap the crash bar to mount the brackets.
This was kinda painful

Sandblasted them to prep for paint.

And while I had the bumper off, installing the rigid dually DOT fogs. These have been sitting in the box from right after we bought the truck!
