    Hey guys,

Time to refresh the front end on my Tacoma, I've got Sway-a-way 2.0 RaceRunner coilovers
("old style" 2.0? they look the same as the ones in the photo below, if they were clean)

One of the springs is broken, the seals are leaking, some pitting near the top of the shafts.

Does anyone rebuild these? Are new springs available?
I only have it set at 1.5" lift so I'm welcome to other suggestions

    Thanks

I have contacted Brian at swayaway directly for replacement parts for my camburg 2.5's (not made by camburg anymore i guess swayaway took over) super helpful guy and he shipped me everything i needed, new seal kits, spherical bearings, etc I'm sure you could get new springs too just give em a call

I had my coilovers rebuilt by Clay at EMF rod ends by Irricana AB , not sure if you're looking for local only but if you shipped them to EMF they did great work. Machined me new piston rods for a killer price since mine were all pitted up and did everything else for a standard rebuild. I highly recommend EMF i had a very positive experience with them

Great thanks for the recommendation. I don't have the time or tools to rebuild it myself right now.

I could also use a US rebuilder if it's significantly cheaper, I have a shipping service across the border.

More general question, is there any real reason to spend $$ on an adjustable coilover if I'm NOT planning on changing the ride height?

I could just get a leveling kit right? I'm only lifting about 1.5-2"

I do take it offroad for firewood and general farm work but I'm not doing anything too gnarly.

    No problem.

Typically better performance and rebuild option is good reason for coilovers but if you're sticking to same height and not adding weight like a winch or steel bumper eventually could always get something like bilstein fronts with new springs for example, don't really know what's out there for levelling kits never really looked at them before

I'm in same boat, but your coil overs look much better than mine. I have been talking too AccutuneOffroad, down in Carson, CA, about rebuilding mine. $75 per shock plus parts. I would do it but these were on truck when I bought it and they are ROUGH at best.
I did order Rancho Quick lift struts in case the price gets too steep. I hope they can save mine but if not I just need to be disciplined as the Tacoma is used for towing primarily.
So hard to keep foot out of it when I see a desert wash and wife screaming in passenger seat.

    They are rebuildable

Springs are available, you want 2.5 ID springs.

Shafts and other hard parts will be hard to get from AFE/AFC/SAW. I have tried a few times to get rod ends for 7/8 shafts and come up empty handed.

If you need that much work, which could cost more than buying a set of new from toytec. The exchange rate and shipping is probably what will push it over buying new.
